Does this mean Nagato Pain is invincible? It does not. Obito, for example, can defeat Nagato and Pain.

SO! Point of thread: Just because the manga and databook say something, does not make it so. There are too many contradictions.

Agreed. The manga contradicts itself at times which means we can't take everything a character says so literally when it comes to techniques or comments about characters. A problem that fanboys seem to have a great deal of processing.

Talking about pain I think all of them 'thought' he is invincible, because they never 'thought' that someone will find out his secret and defeat him, thought is a keyword here..Thoughts can be different, and Pain was really a tough opponent, Naruto was able to defeat his Chikabu tensei because nine-tails went on rampage, I don't see a contradiction here...:erm:

Exactly... When a character says something about another character, it is their opinion. NB gets opinions and facts twisted around. While certain characters' opinions do have weight to them, it an opinion nonetheless.

None of the main characters who fight are "normal" per say,

A strong character doesn't try hard unless he faces off against a very powerful opponent

Nowhere does it say Nagato is weaker than Tobi and nowhere does it state fact that any of that Sasuke stuff is true

...he was a villain. If he couldn't be defeated, then Naruto would've ended a long time ago as Pain would've destroyed Konoha and killed Naruto along with it.

Yeah hype and opnions from characters can not be considered as 100% facts.

Jyuuken is siad to be strongest taijutsu style of Konoha; but that does not mean Hinata is a stronger taijutsu user than Lee or Gai or she would defeat them (she can't even when they are in base)

I agree. People just forget stuff and measure the one's power by the latest chapter. Hiruzen was called the god of shinobi once upon a time,and now everyone looks at him like a fodder who died of an explosion ...

Nagato was stated by Kishimoto to be stronger then Obito and its obvious due to the fact he can just fly in the air spamming rinnegan techniques. The only version of Obito that can defeat Nagato is Jubito and thats anyone with the Juubi would beat Nagato... but at that point in the series pain was unbeatable by any character and invincible due to the Outer path.
