Connection of Gedo mazo and rinnegan

How many of y'all think that to control the gedo mazo rinnegan is needed?

if it is needed then madara is trying to synchronize gedo mazo with sasuke and it might be a possibility that suasuke gets the rinnegan after all the elder son of rikudo sage( the sage of six paths ) got his eyes and sasuke is the descendent of the elder son
