The timespan of Naruto blocking isn't that long since the distance between them isn't that far. Not only that, he himself is a chakra sensor. High speed movement on foot can still be detected via chakra sensing. An example is when he and Sasuke can keep track of Juubito's high speed flight. [ ][ ]

So, in layman's terms, Sasuke's speed isn't even comparable to Naruto's without his Rinnegan.
