Look at this From the trailer of the new boruto anime coming April 2017 it's a teaser of boruto in the anime coming . He has a bandage on his arm which means it's after boruto the movie since he got that bandage from the fight against momoshiki.

The boruto seen in that trailer is after the Boruto movie events so it's not recapping the movie it will be a whole new content

Honestly, I'd rather have it recap the movie. I'm not too sure how much content per-chapter they'll need for an episode, but let's assume that one 50-page chapter will equate to one full episode - as 1-3 (18 page) chapters of Naruto equated to one episode. This anime is launching in April, which means they will most likely start animating around Feb or March. Assuming they don't animate week by week, but let's assume they animate week by week and thus won't actually begin anything until April; the Boruto manga isn't expected to offer any new canon material until at least January, but potentially not even until February of next year. That only gives the anime 2-3 months AKA 2-3 chapters of material to animate off of, which equates to roughly 3 episodes of material.

In other words, no movie recap means filler right off the bat for potentially the entire year to allow the manga to build up content. Let's be honest though, airing in April guarantees filler right off the bat no matter what, because the movie recap would only give them maybe a few months of content - and since the manga is monthly, they'd burn through that in no time and would quickly catch up again.

There isn't any confirmation that that new anime is based of the manga by Ikemoto . It could be a different one with different stories

which ones?

The new generation. They're incredibly boring to me, and it looks like this will basically just be Naruto part 1, except we've already watched that.

This manga was at its peak in the middle of Part 2. Random adventures of little and inconsequential kids sounds lame as hell.

Some people want them to cover the movie!? So..an anime animated adaptation of a manga that already was animated? The game is also doing the movie, I couldn't think of anything I want to see covered less.

Just give me interesting filler and focus on the new gen, I don't mind how faithfully it follows this new manga- i'm game to see any new stuff and just where this goes.

That sort of stuff would have been more appropriate prior to the Chunnin Exams.

DBS added fights and dialogue exchanges that weren't in the movie. That's a plus. If the Boruto anime recaps the movie, we'll likely see more of the Chunin exams.
