No matter how you look, your confidence can give you an attractive outer appearance to others. It's the key to good looks, so confidence all the way!

How does one get this confidence then?
Don't care about what others think of your looks. Be proud of your skills and walk with your head held high. If you feel good, you will look good.

if a nerd, or black, or brown, fat, skinny or any kind of person has the ballz to walk up to someone and say something like 'wanna ****?' if he does that on 15 people im confident he can get at least 1 or 2 without looks. Have you say? Is it confidence or goodlook?
Woooooooooow. smh. Black is beautiful mo fugga.
@ot I certainly might notice someone who has both confidence or looks, but in the end for me those still don't mean much. I know hella people that have both and are still ignorant and not pleasant to be around. That don't work for me. So I chose indifferent.

Looks.

Confidence becomes null and void in most cases if it isn't backed by looks simply because people's interest falls off if they don't find you pleasing to their eye.

Confidence just comes from knowing yourself. I would say that probably over 90% of the confidence you see in others is feigned. Also, as you get older, money gradually surpasses both looks and confidence in the eyes of women.

I have to agree.

There's a rather tawdry element to feigned confidence. Real confidence is a rare trait and takes time to procure (unless it comes naturally), and is always discernible by the fact that it lacks boastful meretriciousness.

I think confidence is what appeals to women. I remember seeing some poll that said they prefered a confident plus sized guy over an insecure body builder.

But for me, I prefer looks.

I don't see what's so hard about this topic. Both are a plus to have of course, but for men they can bridge the gap in looks (if they are little bit lacking) with more confidence and game(I've seen some ugly mtfs with hot Gf's and wives). For women, looks are waaaay more important to have than confidence.

Eh not exactly.

There was a study done a while ago (too lazy to bring it up, so I'll just state the proponents of it) that said that 60% of relationships start based on the first impression, which is 55% based on looks (Which makes sense given that people have their preferences and tastes so seeing someone that catches their eye makes sense), and 45% based on how the person portrays themselves (I.E. outgoing, loud, funny, energetic etc.). However, it doesn't apply to every instance. Ask any girl, and the first thing they'll tell you when looking for certain personality traits is that confidence sticks out the most. There's a video on youtube. Decent looking guy, who wanted to prove that looks mean nothing (obviously slightly fallacious but the point was made in the video) when it comes to talking to women and being outgoing and confident will get you further. To further validate his point, he put on a fat suit, and looked quite repulsive with some added make-up. He goes up to multiple women in the video and ends up getting the number of 3-4 women, of the 6-7 he talked to in the video. One her literally went up to and said "I'm 50% body fat but 100% love machine"; he ended up getting her number. So yeah, looks are a defining factor, but confidence goes a long way.

I think confidence is a big factor, if you are confident with yourself even though you lack on good looks, people would see the positive aura in you. It is said that when you think and feel that you are beautiful, others will see you that way too.

What you said doesn't detract from what I said.

Nobody can see your personality before they can see your physical appearance. People live in a fantasy world if they think confidence alone is going to seal a relationship. What I said is a general truth with few exceptions.

I could bring up a plethora of studies that nullify the one your bring up, that's how psychology is, a few weaker ideas with some evidence to back them trying to work against stronger, more widely accepted theories; that's why it's not classed as a science, because there is no paradigm.

I've seen the most hopeless guyz (lookwise) gettin hot chicks. So in my opinion. Confidence is the key.

Good looks can be a supportive element.

Cuz your good looks aint gonna walk and ask a girl out.

Lol, Hinata looks good but her confidence is absolute zilch.
Don't worry it will grow, time, time and time =D

LOL, what the hell does good look have to do with Confidence ? Hell no, there are people who are ugly and have more confidence than those who are more beautiful. U_U

P.S The good developed character needs a bit of shyness (good looking) as well as confidence.
