In the latest release, that the Juubi was solely sealed in Hagoromo.

This is not definite. Like most Asian languages, translation comes down to interpretation and all translations should be taken with caution.

Anyway, the relevant part of the raws read "それを己に封印した" which could be interpreted as "we sealed it in ourselves" or to a lesser extent, "sealed into myself". The latter because the whole page up to that point is speaking in a suggestive-plural form.

With Viz, the main aim to give a product which sits comfortably with the American audience and so the head translator for each manga, along with their freelance subordinates must make alterations that can inevitably, deviate accuracy, but in return, you get a translation which is more grammatically correct and boasts more easily-digestible paraphrasing. Accuracy is often not the problem as Viz manages a good balance between all aspects.

The niggle with this translation is in the fact that it's picked the less likely translation, although the reasoning for the choice is perfectly feasible, just as much as the other translations.

So, just a heads up for you guys to keep your options open until the story unravels more.

Huehue, it's official because Viz is owned by the company that publishes WSJ.

Most of the translation is done by freelances, there to earn a crust, and unlikely to be die-hard fans.

We won't know until the following chapters.

Kishimoto didn't make it clear in the original text.

If they did seal half into the other brother, it would link up Derp Obito's theories with all the others flying around.

Would fit the story better tbh.

We don't need two Juubis

Oh good. That means Obito > Hagoromo. He one paneled the juubi while hagoromo needed help.

I know this is off topic but that means that gin and kin are related to the sages brother. The kinda of look like the long haired sage.

No, The viz is right. Unlike MP and MS.The Viz actually hires professional Japanese translators.

Well. I don't know about that. There's another good japanese translator in Narutoforums who said different things.

Really? Did he/she say that the juubi was just sealed in the sage or did the sage and his bro get the juubi sealed in both of them?

About mother's crime, he said:
well not really Shakespeare's time in the raw. he sounds as if a translation of some old philosophy book.

tumi 罪 is more like a shin than a crime (=hannzai 犯罪)

And before he also said:
the thing is its not clear whether 10b was sealed in the 2 or just in hagoromo in the raw. hagoromo only says 己に (=into self)

Wow... That opens up for a lot of speculation. "into self" can be interpreted either as "Into myself" or "Into ourselves".

It's clear, because Hagoromo had talked at first about his brother and himself but afterwards, when he described the procedure of Jūbis sealing, he used the word "onore". Hagoromo sealed the complete Jūbi inside himself.

Nah...the translation of Viz isn't often analogously. They have made also a lot of mistakes.

Did you read the raw? Just asking because I'm confused when he said he did read the raw.

Onore can mean either "I" or "we". Here is my source. It is totally legit

Note that it says that you can add ra or tachi to any of the pronouns to make them plural. But guess what? It's only optional. It probably depends on some grammar whether it has to be used, but it doesn't always have to be used.

Consider that if they split the juubi into two parts and sealed it into both of them, when the unnamed brother died the other juubi half would be reincarnated again, as it was with the 9 bijuu. Seeing as how that did not happen, I'm inclined to believe the viz translation.
