I don't really care for a comparison between Sakura and Hinata, but I'll point out why I generally can't stand the former besides the obvious.

She can't make hard decisions. Killing Sasuke during the the gokage arc would have been for the greater good at the time, but she couldn't do because she "loves" him. Even attempting would have been better then not doing it.

Yet Hinata, who Neji ridiculed as someone who couldn't make hard decisions, rejected Naruto's love and left him to die for the greater (attempting to save earth and rescuing her sister).

Aside from proving Neji's assumption of her wrong, she simply wanted to change herself, which she did as evidenced in the war. Yet Hinata's the one with no character development according to her haters. Oh please. It's enough for that a side character in my opinion, especially since she actually achieved her goals.
