Ok so around the base, i've been seeing all of these different theories for 'them', the people who are mentioned / can be brought back from the scroll...and i am sick of people assuming it's going to be the Hokage's...
The main point of this is this ^...after someone's soul has been sealed it CANNOT be resummoned or unsealed!
There are some very important things to note in relevance to this point:
1. Orochimaru is NOT an exception to this rule... If we pay close attention to Orochimaru's resummoning we will notice a couple of things...
Firstly, Orochimaru's main body was sealed by Itachi using the Totsuka Blade, that portion of him WAS SEALED...then we must also understand that Orochimaru can regenerate from even a small portion of his soul - part of his ability of taking other people's souls...
That is why Orochimaru could come back, he was released from his cursed mark on Anko...which if we think about is the whole point for Anko in the first place. This release is from Oro's curse mark...the other portion of his soul is still sealed by Totsuka Blade... he didn't unseal his soul, there was just a part of him still unsealed... Also: no other Shinobi has ever discovered the ability of curse marks - and implementation of you soul into another person: Thats why Orochimaru is so revered!
2. The whole plot of Naruto so far has served to pull the amount of unsealed soul's down to narrow who it could be...that's why every dead Hokage has been sealed so far...and a bunch of other extremely powerful Shinobi have been summoned by Kabuto and then sealed...
You cannot unseal a soul that has been sealed...the people that the scroll reference will not be the Hokage's
3. If you need even more proof, or think that this scroll may change things...then Listen To This:
If Orochimaru knew the secret to summoning a soul that had already been sealed - why wouldn't he have used the ability himself to retrieve his arms...do you think its a co-incidence that his arms were sealed in the same way as every past Hokage? - These souls within the RDS cannot be resummoned or unsealed or otherwise Oro would have done it for himself...
If you think he knew how but couldn't do it...then why couldn't he do it...he had kabuto who seemed powerful enough to help him...and he sought out Tsunade for healing and thought his resurrection jutsu (white snake) would heal him - which it didn't completely.
In Summary:
Souls that are sealed cannot come back:
1. Oro is not an exception
2. The role of Edo so far has also been to narrow down numbers for revival
3. The scroll will not change this fact
Hope this clears this up for so many people who think that the Kage's or another sealed soul will come back!
