I've recently done some reading on my faith, and honestly it's clearly written by humans. I'm an atheist. I'm wondering if I should come out as an atheist to my school, which is Christian.

I think you should tell your school about Itachi and how he should be praised.

If you feel it necessary to then why not?

Typically something you keep to yourself, cause no one cares...

what do you expect, a celebration cause you've become an atheist?

why don't you just leave the school...

If I could leave I would, but I can't.

Of course there won't be a ****ing celebration, you and I both are aware of that. Not everyone likes to pretend. Besides, atheists are the only type of people who are forgotten in regards to the whole "tolerance" shit when it comes to school.

Perhaps you should discuss this with people who are closer to you and understand your situation better, as opposed to random strangers on the internet

I didn't say pretend...just take affirmative action.

Why can't you leave?

Keep it to yourself. If anyone tries to force religion on you, wich i doubt, then nicely let them know. Look, i'm an atheist, sorry. That's it.

On second thought, you're screwed. I didn't read the part right about your school being Christian. But still, just keep it to yourself. It's probably the best idea.

You should tell your parents. And together you all could decide if going to a Christian school is better for you and your education. Telling people at your school would only cause problems and besides, it is not their business.

Because he is probably a minor.

He gave me the impression that he was older and knew what he was talking about, in the past.

Lmao, you can still can go to another school, minor or not. Never heard of that...maybe strict parents.

That's an assumption, that people closer to him would understand better.Where did you come up with that?"Perhaps you should discuss this with people who are closer..." that's a bit prejudice/biased.

They're christian...they won't understand better, at all.

Discuss with your family, since more than likely if anyone actually cares at your school they might try to shame you

That doesn't necessarily mean it's a problem. Of course I don't know what's your situation with how the people you are close with act as Christians.

The idea is that you discuss with someone who has your best interests at heart and knows you better than strangers. That may be hard to find, but you should definitely check for someone like that first. If they do have your best interests at heart, than their status as a Christian should not be a problem. The point is, they'll be giving you the advice they think is best for you based on what they know, not the advice you want to hear.

Listen to what the people around you have to say, internalize that info, process it yourself, understand ALL possible outcomes and risks, and make what you feel is the best decision. Then, whatever happens from that be what it be. At that point, it's out of your hands and there's no point getting mad or upset over something out of your hands, nothing will change if you did.

It wasn't an assumption, I suggested going to people who are closer AND understand his situation better, not one or the other. He should be taking information from become who can properly assess his situation and plan a course of action that best takes into account his interests and safety.

The fact still remains that it's best to go discuss and handle something so intimate and personal, something that will affect OP's day-to-day life, with someone that knows the entire situation and of course also has OP's well-being as a priority when making said plan.

What is there to discuss with someone close? They're all Christian and will try to re-convert me, and I'm not interested in raining on anyone's God believing parade.

Sounds like a projection, and a self-entitled PERSONAL preference...rather than something that is truly necessary. You're own little sentiment that you're projecting.Kind of not fair.

Either way, it's not that serious. He shouldn't take it that serious...it's not like he's pregnant or having his first period. Let's get real, here.

Exactly, brady...common sense, they're just gonna start straddling, and try to re-convince you that christian is something substantial. Looking at your situation, anyone would know that's the natural reaction of a christian family.

Live your truth. If you would regret that, you'll regret any choice you make. That is all.
