Well the title says it all but just a few of my own thoughts I'd like to add
#1) The Idea As A Whole
I think it's great. Assault on Arkham was great but I know it will be nothing like this (for better or worse). Kinda strange that they're doing it before Justice League but eh, whatever. I just hope it's gonna be a hit
2) Costumes
I'll put more thoughts into individual characters but over all I'm a mix of not that impressed & not that confident with a few stars mixed in (literal and figurative). You have them trying to make them realistic which makes sense and can be done--just look at Arkham City--but it's perfectly understandable why you can't just rip them straight from paper to film--so I'll give them points and leeway for that. Dark & gritty over primary collors works best for a film about homicidal villains am I right?
#3) Will Smith As Deathstroke
I see it as a 8.5-9/10 based on what I've seen. I mean,Will Smith is a badass playing a badass and the pics I've seen for the costume look GREAT. He's bringing in the most optimism of all for this film
#4) Harley Quinn
Other than the two unknowns with a skull painted face & the Chinese chick she's the one I'm least optimistic about. Haven't seen much but from what I have and compared to other characters I'm just not impressed. BUT I'll set these feelings aside as it's early judgement. I mean, I've doubted a LOT of characters & movies early on that turned out to be great. So far the best Harley Quinn I've seen is Arkham City (and no, not for the *** appeal). But it's definitely better than the red & black jumpsuit!
#5) Captain Boomerang
He's got the outfit, face & accent--I have NO problems with the guy. No potential for problems at all so far until I see acting & I have hopes for that
#6) Killer Crock (or King Shark, whoever he is)
About the best you can do for it to be realistic so once again I won't judge. No high hopes but all things considered and unseen I won't bash either
#7) OF COARSE, THE JOKER!
Heath Ledger was bashed before the release & everyone who did it ate a moldy sock. I'm confident that this will be the same scenario but I do not want or expect a HEATH LEDGER Joker. I'm sure he will be awesome and a new spin and surprise just like HL, but not the same performance or character HL himself. A new spin on a new spin, I guess you could say. At first I was "eeeeeh" but after seeing a few lines, screenshots & something other than the scream/smile photo they released I'm certainly giving him a chance to impress.
So far my hopes for Suicide Squad is 51/49% in favor of success. I hope to see more later on and for now, how about your thoughts? What are you the most/least hopeful for and what do you want to see soon/next?
