Ever since the So6P said that Naruto was Ashura's reincarnation, I've been looking into some of the religions that Kishimoto has used for his manga.
From what I've found, Ashura means 'the tenth day' in Islam. Which is ironic since Naruto was born on the 10th of October. And then there is Asura, which is in the Buddhist and Hinduism religion. The Asura are Deities/demons which are enemies of Indra that posses six arms and three faces.
Since Ashura's battle form possesses six arms and three faces, it reminded me of the asura path of the Rinnegan that can do the something similar, which I guess shows another link of Ashura inheriting the sages body.
Next are the faces of Ashura's battle form. To me, they honestly look like rabbits. I know that some one said that they look similar to Kurama, but even Kurama's appearance slightly resembles a rabbit since his ears are more akin to a rabbit that a fox.
This also brings me to Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. She was nicknamed the rabbit goddess and a demon. This is also similar to the Asura, since they can also can be considered deities and demons. Kishimoto based her off the moon goddess (I think) called Chang'e, which also gives reference to the cassia tree; also known as the giver of life. The Cassia tree obviously refers to the juubi who was sealed inside the moon by the sage.
All in all, looking into all these religions and trying to look for all these clues that kishimoto has left behind is making my head hurt. I would normally try to use this information and guess what's going to happen in the next chapter but there just isn't enough information to go with (or I'm not smart enough to find it).
But since some of the things I've mentioned happened a while back, such as Naruto's birthday, Kurama's ears, the asura path, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's and asuras god/demon similarity, and finally with the Cassia tree and the juubi; do you think it was all just a big coincidence on Kishimoto's part or was some of it actually planned?
