CoD Advanced Warfare Upgrade/Downgrade

My friend has a question concerning the whole upgrade system. You can buy the Xbox 360 digital version of AW and then upgrade to the Xbox One's digital version by a certain time.

But can you buy the Xbox One's digital version and then play on the 360?
