@all: Thank you all for the support, I try my best
On topic: I was about to discuss this with the staff but seeing a thread was made I'll post my opinion here. I like checking customs, I've been a mod for close to 2 months and I'm not bored of it yet so my devotion ain't the problem here. The real problem is the overall number of customs that need to be checked.
As some of you already know, I'm currently a full time student. Having such a thight schedule in addition to the homework and hours spent studying, NB either takes my sleeping time or my study time. Lately I've been trying to focus a bit more on my studies and the result are those 10 pages ( not saying the other mods aren't checking customs, but recently it's been hard for everyone in the staff to do so). I've been thinking about many ways to manage both RL and NB, considering I don't want to leave NB nor start checking CJ by simply saying "declined", but so far they only involve changing the CJ thread rules:
-Leaving the thread open 1 week then closing it for a week.
-limiting the CJ submissions to 3 per weeks.
-?
The fact that I'm rarely declining customs for good seem to have influenced the submissions since most members submit their 5 customs every week. Think about it, that's 300 cj every week (considering 20 members submit 5, which is about right). Even if I check one page per day on average (50-65 customs) I simply can't catch up.
I know we could assign another mod to help me, but tue thruth is, I said I would take responsibility for thks thread when I became a mod, it's my duty to keep it up to date.
So please give me your honest opinion, would you mind any of the change I suggested above (1 or the other, not both).
I think that to maintain the quality of that thread like it is today, the ideal would be to have the thread open one week and closed the next week. This way you could continue to check with the same quality and attention to detail that you have been doing so far and members would be able to submit about 10 customs a month, which i think its pretty good considering that you can only submit 35 overall.
I honestly prefer to way a week to submit new customs and have them checked carefully and with detail and some kind of constructed input than have you and more mods rushing through the CJ thread with simple "declined" just to be able to keep up with the submissions.
As you say, per week there is about 300 to 400 customs (at least in the last weeks it was this way) which means that each day (without pause) you would need to check 50-60 cjs and this is considering you had no pause or anything else to do as a mod.
I'm in favor of both options as the final output would be the same (about 10 customs per month give or take). Perhaps this way people would actually think a bit more before posting the cjs and their quality would equally improve.
But this is just my humble opinion ^^
Agrees with all.I'm all for 1 week open 1 week closed. Izuna's been doing a great job so whatever makes it easiest for him should be the way it works.
An alternative could be something like closed on the weekends or something.
I dont agree. It took me a whole MONTH to try to perfect my Vault of Odin Techniques that I just submitted last week.I agree with deal ol' Scorps ere'. Some people simply rush through 5 customs per week and post them in the CJ thread to try their luck. By limiting the amount of customs a member is allowed to submit, you automatically bring the workload down, but you also encourage originality and effort to be put behind the submitted customs.
(I basically just repeated what Scorps said, huh? Damn. =/)
-______- I really hope you were kidding there. Like Izuna, Real life takes the majority of my time. I work full time, and am a father of a baby boy. Because of this, that means I work 18 hour days. The only time I have tim to get on the boards is when I'm at work, and when I'm at work, I am working. In the meantime I have been doing battle tests, answering barrages of VMs/PMs regarding bios, checking battles, other battle tests, and other miscellanea, on top of helping deal with DL drama.Yea, totally agree man i mean he ain't a robot!lets give him some time.
@ Norwegian: i think the other mods are lazy seeing that only izuna checks the cj's? xd
Izuna, You are the freaking man! I commend you on your dedication to NB and especially the customs. I think that switching it to 3 submission a week would be a more reasonable request. The 5 jutsu per week rule was instated when there was half (maybe even a quarter) or the total number of RPers as we have now. with new members joining every day, something needs to change. I plan on helping you out because no man should handle that burden.@all: Thank you all for the support, I try my best

I love the "Waiting" movie quote. I think I'm gonna Netflix it right now. lol.-______- I really hope you were kidding there. Like Izuna, Real life takes the majority of my time. so in true tyler durden style I'll leave you with this.
"Look, the people you are talking about are the people you depend on. We approve your customs, we clean up your threads, we officiate your tournaments, and We approve your bios. Do not... mess with us.
^_^ love, your friendly neighborhood yamato.
(I'm not angry at this I just wanted you to have a clear picture as to how busy we are, and thet tyler durden thing was for lulz)

Bro love :T_T:!Izuna, You are the freaking man! I commend you on your dedication to NB and especially the customs. I think that switching it to 3 submission a week would be a more reasonable request. Yeah full on agree with the open 1 week closed 1 week. or even like Typhon said just close it on the weekends, and also make it 3 jutsu per week at the same time.
Awesome, thanks for your support!I am all in for the opening and closing of the custom jutsu after every week. This way, you are also reducing the numbe of cj submission. If this was to be done, it would mean an average of 2.5 cjs a week. Better than the 3 cj submission a week xD
Or we could do both ideas, it would be an average of 1.5 custom jutsu submissions a week :3 But it's Izuna's choice since his the man here ^~^
But yeah, I am supporting the idea of then opening and closing the cj thread idea. =DD
I agree with this idea.I like the One Week Open and One week closed idea, as it would greatly improve Cj effort and give you guys more time.
I'm all for the close 1 open 1 but I think the real prob is that he is the only one checking them m...mt suggestion is a cj squad kinda like sempais to sensais but with cjYes, in past that was the case. But i think that today, having it closed for a week when its nearly 10 pages long of cjs to check is actually a smart move. Izuna does a great job. He's attent to detail, he gives you a chance to edit and resubmit, he tries to help. I think the does the job very very well. But he is just a person.
I think it would help to have it closed for 1 week. But we'll see.
Lol man stop please lolJust would like to add to the quote
The window is open so fresh air can come, just bear with with cold for now.
1st, to explain what's what.
Window = CJ thread (Note: Window is reversed. Opened = CJ thread closed, and vice versa)
House owner = Mods/Izuna
People in room = Us
Now, its understandable that the longer the window is opened, the colder you'll get. But, if the window is closed, Carbon dioxide will grow and the room will get out of control.
You would not freeze if the window is just opened for a week, so I know some people will complain about it, but you can't satisfy everyone. And those unsatisfied ones are mainly the ones who only think of themselves.
I can't get with the 3 every 2 weeks(open 1 and closed the next) but I'm ok with the open/closed by week...just leave it 5 a week@all: Thank you all for the support, I try my best

Lol great minds...lolI dont agree. It took me a whole MONTH to try to perfect my Vault of Odin Techniques that I just submitted last week.
And now that I received a Sasori bio, I thought of a few Techniques for that as well......cough damn you black uchiha for stealing my idea and posting it first....elemental chakra strings.....I thought I was being ingenious. Sigh oh well......But anyway back to my Vault of Odin Techniques, They took a long time to develop. In that time, I happen to have came up with 20 other CJs that either were good ideas and im waiting to submit or discarded as I knew they wouldnt get approved. so trying there luck doesnt apply to every1 and you shouldnt lump ppl together like that.
