*I stand across from my opponent and fellow student in the arena within Konoha's arena. The entire desolate aside from the two of us as we face each other. I hold up my right hand making the seal of confrontation non-agressivly to symbolize our terms of equality as shinobi.*

I start off by thrusting my right hand and shooting a wave of Dark Chakra at you as I run forward and with my left hand taking out Kotomaru

Description: A perception ninjutsu, allowing one to freely manipulate rain infused with the user's own chakra after waving the Bird → Rat → Ox → Monkey → Rat → Snake hand seals. The rain falls from rain clouds, formed with the users own chakra. During this technique, the falling raindrops are closely linked to the users senses. When the rain is obstructed by a chakra belonging to someone the existence of the target can be detected. The rain will keep on falling until the user uses the seal to cancel it.

I'd hardly call this all short ranged fighting.

As you begin running towads me, with your hand out, I simply clap my hands together focusing on my Suiton chakra and a large spirraling mass of water generates between the two of us and quickly rushes outwards towards you, colliding with your wave of dark chakra and pushing through it. As you would be hit otherwise, you're must defend against this technique as it would reach you surely before you preform your six hand seals for your water technique.

Descripton: This technique allows the user after claping their hands together to make a spiralling vortex of water out of knowhere. The vortex then proceeds to explode from the top in the form of a wave. The user can also control the direction the wave goes with hand movements.

Just after the mass of water begins its travel towards you, without separating my hands from the position they were previously in, I merely change the positioning and formation of my hands to make a tiger seal, and I immediately channel my chakra into your subconscious and capture you in my genjutsu. Should you still be running or even preforming another technique, you find yourself surrounded at the feet by several white snakes and they quickly come up around your entire body, constricting your movements and crushing you and immobilizing you.

After casting my illusion on you, I quickly change the nature of my chakra to my affinity nature of lightning and create two clones of lightning on either side of me, whom quickly run outwards diagonally and circling around to attempt to head towards you from the sides as you're being dragged away by the water within my illusion.
