Hurizen can't be powerful as the 1st hokage because he is not related to the fairytale s06p. Hurizen might come out victorious in a battle due to wisdom, intelligence or watever but according to kabuto, 1st has more power. I dont trust the databooks since it is made to be controversial.

ok >_> i was reading posts from people and there are different stuff said through the manga K at one point they said the 4th hokage passed all the other hokages out ok not that i agree and on top of that the chapter that just passed by Kabuto noted that Hashirama was stronger than Madara Uchiha and that his might was so vast, that there weren't any shinobi in the current era that could match his level of power. He also stated that many considered his prowess to be a mere fairy tale much like the existence of the Sage of the Six Paths.[3] His prowess and abilities were so great that he was able to not only fight on equal footing with Madara Uchiha despite his power of Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and having the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox at his side, but even gained victory in the end and survived the battle.

I don't see how the databooks are "made to be controversial". Hiruzen > all other Hokage was stated in the series as well. Heck, the DBs are written by the author, thus are fact.

the 4th hokage isnt a senju or uchiha but he was taught sealing jutsus from his wife or it was the 1st hokage's wife either way they are both uzimaki who is pretty much cousins of the senju clan so he may not be any but he does use sealing jutsu from a clan related to them

Not a fan boy or minato fan at all first off but the only thing i want to say is al we say so far was FTG level 2. Now just speculating there may not even be any other levels but nobody but kishi knows that for sure. That being said if there aren't any other levels to the technique Hiruzen would most likely wipe the floor with him in his prime.
I know I shouldn't but I'm going too lol this thread is like the energizer bunny it keeps going and going and going lol.
Seriously though I have read quiet a few of the posts in here and I've still got know idea which hokage was the strongest but Hiruzen does seem like he was pretty badass in his prime so I will go with him not saying I'm right or wrong just my thoughts.

ur first post jus had to be a fail huh ? people act like hiruzen was handicapped jus cuz of his age . sure it was a disadvantage but its not that huge a difference you guys expect from his prime ..
is oonoki not raping at his age right now ? was danzo not impressive wen fighting sasuke ? there both around the same age as hiruzen and how come nobody ever talks about there "prime" ? wheres there excuse for getting beat ? cuz it certainly isnt age
Users are acting like the DBs hold no wieght when Kishimoto writes them as fact, and I just decided to point out that the very same thing (approximately anyway) was stated by Iruka.

Page 265: "The Third is called the strongest, even among the past Hokage, and he is even admired as the 'God of Shinobi'." (「三代目は歴代火影の中でも最強と言われ、„忍の神”と謳われたことも。」, "Sandaime wa rekidai Hokage no naka demo saikyō to iware, 'Shinobi no Kami' to utawareta koto mo")
And that's just in the first databook. Both of the other ones state the same thing. Hiruzen being the strongest Hokage is indeed fact. I asked the guy that I requested the translation from over on the wiki if that included Minato, and he responded with this:
"Yes, I would say he's stronger —albeit not necessarily greater— than Minato, as well. If I'm not mistaken, '歴代' includes the current generation as well."
There's no doubt anywhere that Hiruzen is the strongest. All that has been going on is that Hashirama's strength has been expanded upon. Heck, the funny thing is, half of you are saying something along the lines of "Where's Hiruzen's feats?" or "Hiruzen is all hype" , yet that's all Hashirama has thus far gotten: hype.

They don't. There is NO doubt. This is Kishimoto. He has been saying the same thing about Hiruzen for nearly a decade: he's the strongest Hokage. There is no character quote I know of that states without a shadow of a doubt that ANY character is above Hiruzen. The closest thing is what A says about Minato: "He was a man I thought would never be surpassed..."
Minato and Hashirama were incredible without a doubt, the 3rd was apparently stronger still (in his prime).
