Alright, so I see a lot of people stating that what Suigetsu said here :

Could be used to say that Karin possibly isn't the mother, due to him not being certain if it's origins... But this is what Suigetsu meant:

Suigetsu meant that he thought that Karin kept the umbilical cord from her own birth all these years, but now he thinks it could be the umbilical cord from her pregnancy with Sarada.

Anticipated response:
"She could've kept it after helping Sakura through her pregnancy"
My rebuttal: No, unless you want to say that the hospital nurses keep the umbilical cord after our mothers give birth and that Japanese hospitals are filled with cords. Also it is Burnaby the mother who keeps the cord, so the fact that she has it should be further proof that Karin is indeed the mother of Sarada.

I'm sorry for the long read, thanks for reading and here's a cookie .

@bold If Suigetsu thinks it's the umbilical cord from Karin's pregnancy with Sarada, then this implies this is Sarada's umbilical cord, not Karin's. So why the f*** would Suigetsu compare Sarada's DNA against the DNA sample from her own umbilical cord? Obviously, it's going to match, there is no point in testing.

Yeah your right, for the test to show Sarada and Karin are related it must be Karins umbilical cord from when she was born that needs to be tested.

The umbilical cord has the DNA of the mother, not the offspring, as it connects the mother to the offspring in the womb, it's not a part of the child

There are some major flaws in your theory. Or maybe, I'm just incapable of understanding those points, so you clear them up for me.

1. If Suigetsu thinks the umbilical cord is from Karin's pregnancy with Sarada, why does he need to test it then? I mean he already knows knows that Karin was pregnant with Sarada, right? So why do the DNA test when you know the truth?

2. If the umbilical cord contains the DNA of the mother and not of the offspring, then why did Suigetsu say this (the umbilical cord) was from Karin's birth? Because if it is from Karin's birth, then it contains the DNA of Karin's mother, doesn't it? So why compare it with Sarada? This shows that the umbilical cord contains the DNA of the child, not the mom.

3. If Suigetsu thinks this umbilical cord is from Karin's pregnancy with Sarada, why was he so surprised when Sarada suspected that Karin could be her mother? He shouldn't freak out if he already knows Karin is Sarada's mother (she has the umbilical cord), right?

4. Having an umbilical cord means Karin must have been pregnant (according to you), right? So why isn't Suigetsu surprised after knowing that Karin was pregnant (since she has the umbilical cord)? Because if he knew Karin was pregnant, why was he so surprised when Sarada told him that?

5. If Karin was pregnant, then didn't Suigetsu and Juugo once noticed it in the entire period of 9 months? She mustn't have been away the entire time.

6. And if Suigetsu knew Karin was pregnant, but didn't know who the child was, then why was he surprised on the thought of Sasuke having *** with Karin? Who else could Karin possibly have a child with other than Sasuke?

1. He thought it was from Karin's birth UNTIL Sarada came by with suspicions of Karin being the mother.

2. DNA similarities between Karin and her mother would most likely relapse in Sarada as either a dominant or recessive trait.

3. Refer to #1

4. Refer to #1(you are basically just rewording the same question)

5. They could've easily assumed that it was from some other person, just didn't care, or she didn't meet back up with them at that point. Take your pick.

6. She could've moved on like Ino did, they could've assumed she was just gaining weight
