*I focus my chakra into my hair and as instructed, I attempt to form letters from it using shape manipulation. I started with the more basic letters such as I, C, U before moving onto more complex ones such as H, Q and Z.*

*I focus my chakra into the hair on my head and attempt to utilize it to harden so it becomes too stiff to bend. The main difficulty in doing this is accomplishing this hardening without element chakra but rather raw chakra alone. I envision the same process I use to harden my threads without the aid of doton chakra and attempt to replicate the same process with my hair*

*I focus my chakra into my hair, this time for the express purpose of making it's texture a lot softer. The resulting effect is that it freely slides through your tight grip. I envision the process used by a technique in my arsenal which allows me to make any part of my body smooth enough that it exhibits virtually no friction/traction.*

I believe you now grasp the basics of DotBS.

Tsubaki no Hayashita Sennin: Bainzu | Dance of the Bearded Sage: Vines

Rank: B
Type: Offensive, Supplementary, Defensive
Range: Long
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: This technique can be seen as the basic manpulation technique in this ''branch''. By manipulation one's hair the user is capable of growing it as it pleases. Make it as sharp, hard, soft, long, short. This technique can be used in many possible ways, such as causing one's hair to go underground and erupt from the ground beneath the opponent.

The next technique you will be taught is the following;
Tsubaki no Hayashita Sennin: Fuzaketa Petenshi | Dance of the Bearded Sage: Playful Trickster

Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra: 15
Damage: N/A
Description: A less wild, yet more tactical version of hair strengthening; The user will emit quantities of hair from his body which coiling it around a specified body parts or, if he wishes, his entire body turning him into a ball of hair. Changing the properties of the hair, the user will be able to at incoming blockades in close combat, to have the hair allow him to slide past, as it was a piece of soap slipping through one’s hands, the blockade and proceed it’s original path unhindered. This would essentially, within reason, allow the user to slide past certain attacks without getting in physical contact, or hindered in his path, as well as avoiding certain attacks. The changing of properties of the hair, can however also take place, by reversing the proccess, thus making it 'lethal' following the restrictions and limitations of the style - Such as making them sharp.

Perform, pros cons, questions? Adequate examples of when to make use of it

An advantage is the ability to change the property of the hair, letting you destroy attacks if it's sharp or allowing them to slide off you (within reason). The disadvantages for me are the low rank and the size (being surrounded by a ball of hair). I'd use it in CQC to intercept strikes, either letting them slide off the hair or intercepting and damaging the limb used to attack.

Well.. Okay. Playful Trickster isn't really a give away. Let's start on that. Now, I don't know about your RL growth of hair, around your body - But the natural exhibit of hair that is on your arms, around this amount;
You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images

Above shown pictures, carry the amount of hair required to activate Playful Trickster. Activation of the technique makes these hair slippery, and is able to cushion damage and divert it elsewhere cause Chakra. Don't see this technique as a hinderance, but as a surprise defense.

*Activates EIG, 5th Gate.*

*Throws a haymaker at your right shoulder.*

Elaborate on the result.

Depending on the angle of the punch, it could either strike at my body beneath the hair or slide off due to the lack of friction/traction. If you aimed for the edge of my shoulder and with the right accompanying movements, the punch could slide off cleanly. If you aimed at the center of my shoulder, it's possible the strike would land.

I googled "haymaker" and I'm convinced the attack would slide right off.

Exacto. Okay, congratulations. Let's move onto the next! Huzzah!

Tsubaki no Hayashita Sennin: Kotējigāden | Dance of the Bearded Sage: Cottage Garden

Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user will unleash an heavy amount of hair from desired part of his body, and into the ground, having it spread throughout the entire terrain, manifesting itself within the ground. Small patches of hair throughout the terrain can be spotted, emitted from the ground, going in an arc and back into the ground. The hair is closely linked to the user's senses, thus allowing him to detect any movement underground and above(Obviously, aslong as it touches the hair.). The heavy amount of hair can however also be used as a source for future Tsubaki no Hayashita Sennin techniques, keeping the traits of Cottage Garden.

Right, this one is fairly simple. Nice and easy. Tell me the pros and cons about this one.

Pros
-It covers long-range
-It can be used as a "source" for other Bearded Sage techniques

Cons
-Can only be used to sense what comes into contact with the hair
-Leaves you prone to certain techniques
-You remain physically in contact with the hair
-It's a B-Rank that costs 30 chakra (lol)

Shoot, you're right. I should fix that. LOL.

What happens if you deattach the hair? Can you run whilst attached to the hair?

Hello goblet :omg:

[Doton: Seiryoku no Toride] - Earth Release: Might of the Fortress
Type: Defensive/Supplementary
Rank: B
Range: N/A
Chakra: 20 (-10 chakra for every turn this is active)
Damage: N/A
Description: The user activates an ability that increases the hardness of their earth-based techniques (including KG/CE) to increase their defensive abilities. This technique employs the same hardening as that seen in Earth Release: Earth Spear (Kakuzu’s signature technique). Techniques affected by this jutsu look much darker on creation, with the earth very nearly becoming black in appearance. Supplementary/defensive ones will be granted the ability to defend against techniques one rank higher than usual. Activating this ability does not require any time whatsoever and is instant. This is because it does not do anything when used independently, and its effects are only realized when another earth-based technique is used.

Notes:
Lasts for three turns
Can only be used twice per battle
Will not work on mud or sand-based techniques (or c.e based on earth)
Elemental S/W remains unchanged

If you detach the hair, you can no longer sense nor can you manipulate it. I assume you can run and the hair simply grows as you move but it isn't something I'd advise or do myself.
Correct.

[Doton: Tougijou no Gaiten] – Earth Release: Arena of Apocrypha
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 40
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user will focus their doton chakra into the ground and raise countless pillars from within it all across the terrain, each pillar comparable in size to the ones created in Earth Release: Destructive Rising Rock Pillars. Instead of spiked tips however, each pillar has small circular platforms (diameter of two-meters) that can be stood upon with no threat to the user or the opponent. Each platform is positioned a few meters from the others surrounding it, meaning the user/opponent can jump from platform to platform to navigate the new terrain. While this technique is largely supplementary in use, the one danger it poses occurs when their party falls off the structure. After emerging fully, a multitude of protrusions of mud will surface from inside each of the large pillars of stone. Along the “body” of every pillar will be countless tendrils of sticky mud that are semi-sentient. These writhing tendrils cross and overlap, creating a veritable forest void of light. Anyone who falls off the structure will have these tendrils lash out at him/her, capturing them due to it’s adhesiveness and subsequently suffocating them as they “sink” into the tendril (similar to Swamp of the Underworld). This technique will last for three turns on creation before becoming a “lifeless” structure devoid of any chakra. The pillars and platforms will remain if not destroyed before then and the mud that constituted the tendrils will simply fall back to the ground in a cascade, burying anyone unfortunate enough to be beneath them.

Note:
Lasts for three turns
Can only be used twice per battle, must wait 2 turns between re-using
No A-Rank or above Earth in this turn or the user’s next turn
Okay, I'm pretty confident in the first. But it does contradict itself, no? It says you're able to increase the hardness of earth based techniques, and in brackets, it includes CEs. Yet in the restructions it clearly states it will not work on CEs based on earth. What should I go by?

What can I use this technique to?

I believe the restricition was placed there by pervy. He probably forgot to take out the one in the description. Can work on KGs that include earth yeah, just not CEs.

We're back! O^O

Okay, so we got an update, which I love, and you will so too.

Tsubaki no Hayashita Sennin: Bainzu | Dance of the Bearded Sage: Vines
Rank: C-S
Type: Offensive, Supplementary, Defensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 15-40
Damage: 30-80
Description: This technique can be seen as the basic manpulation technique in this ''branch''. By manipulation one's hair the user is capable of growing it as it pleases. Make it as sharp, hard, soft, long, short. This technique can be used in many possible ways, such as causing one's hair to go underground and erupt from the ground beneath the opponent. Vines may also be used to create pre-existing hair sources.
Note: S-ranke version can only be used 3 times, with a 2 turn cooldown period in between usages while the ranks below are unlimited.

So essentially a great booster for the versatility of the branch while still staying strong. But just to make sure, cut out the top changes for the tech that wasn't in it before, but is now.

Next technique we're going to do is very simply. Imagine using the above technique to simply spread hair throughout your entire body untill you look like a sheep? Do that, keep the hair malleable, yet still resilient.
