Haruno Sakura vs Gaara
A cold air filled the room when the names appeared on the screen. Sakura was frozen in place, scared, knowing how tough the Sand Ninja was. She knew she could handle the written parts of the exam, even the forest of death was too bad when she had Sasuke and Naruto to back her up. Ino was scared for Sakura, she hoped she forfeited the match, it wasn't worth it, even though they were rivals, Ino would hate to see anything happen to her friend. Ino looked over at Sakura "S-Sakura..., you don't know...." Ino was interrupted by a cold voice from below her, "Are you just gonna stand there or will you get down here?" Gaara said with a cold look on his face. Ino could sense the killing intent. "Come on, lets get this over with, I need to sacrifice someone worthy, Sasuke Uchiha." Sakura eye widen...."Sacrifice?" Some emotion washed over her, it wasn't fear this time it was anger. "Naruto look at Gaara, and said" Who do you think you are talking to her like that your creep, I ought to wipe that smug look from your face!" The instructor looked up and asked Sakura did she accept the battle. Sakura took off her headband and jumped down onto the battle arena.
The rookies seemed to be surprised, they never seen Sakura so serious before. Sakura put her headband over her forehead and nodded.
"I accept the challenge."
Naruto looked at Sakura with the utmost faith in her ability as a ninja. " Come on Sakura, kick this guy's ass! He got nothing on you." Rock Lee joined in with Naruto cheering her on. Ino was still worried, she didn't know what Sakura was thinking. Naruto heard someone laughing beside him, and looked over to see Kankuro. " What so funny?" Naruto asked in a annoyed voice. " You are, you think that pathetic little girl can beat Gaara, she'll die, she should have quit." Kankuro said in a boastful manner, continuing to laugh. "You know nothing, Sakura is strong, and she is the smartest person here." Naruto said getting quite worked up. Temari laughs and look down at Naruto, "Don't say he didn't warn you kid. That girl is good as dead." Temari said as she folded her arms.
"BEGIN!"
"Don't you think for one second that Im any less of a ninja, and don't you dare even think you can defeat a ninja as strong as Sasuke-kun." said Sakura in a determined voice. Sakura didn't know much about Gaara, or the giant gourd on his back, so she would have to play it safe and stay her distance. Sakura pulled out kunai from her bag and threw them at Gaara, much to her surprise a bunch a sand rushed to her defense. Every one was surprised when they seen it happen. Gaara laughed, " Mama, Im gonna make you proud." Gaara said as if he was some sort of maniac. "So that your secret, you carry sand in you gourd. Your jutsu is sand manipulation, you seem to use it as a defensive, but im sure you can use it offensively too....so that makes you a mid-long range fighter, meaning you must be weak in hand to hand combat." Sakura said, quickly analyzing Gaara's technique.
"Kakashi you have got a smart student, but will that be enough to beat that guy?" Gai said observing the fight closely. "She'll need speed to even land a hit on that guy." Kakshi looked at Gai and smiled. He had faith in Sakura's ability." Im not worried about her, I don't know what she has planned but I trust her judgment, and her special ability as a ninja exceed that of my own." Gai looked at Kakashi with widened eyes, he knew kakashi all of his life and he was never one to complement another's ability in such a way. "What do you mean, Kakshi? Her Special ability." Kakshi looked back at the match and simply said, "You will see it soon enough." Gai fronted at Kakashi and though how Kakashi always get under his skin.
Gaara stared at Sakura with hatred and boredom in his eyes. He was ready to end this fight, there was too little blood for his liking. " That knowledge is not important when you can do nothing to stop it." Gaara raised his hands towards Sakura, causing the sand the rush towards her. "It's too fast," Sakura though, "I have to avoid it, focus all of the chakra to my feet and I should increase my speed." Sakura speed increase causing her to barely avoid the sand assault, Gaara was persistent, she couldn't just move out of the way, the sand followed his every move. The sand began to split into two forcing her to back into a corner. " It's all over!" Gaara said in a dark voice, "SAND COFFIN!"
Shino knew what was coming next, he and his team mates knew what happened all too well. Hinata was sad, she knew how Naruto would feel if anything happened to Sakura. Ino heart raced, she knew what was about to happen next wouldn't be good.
"Sakura! get out of there." naruto yelled.
SMASH! Crack!
Gaara Sand jutsu was complete. The Sand was clenched together to crush Sakura.
"Sakura! It can't be" Naruto said about to jump down there and get Sakura, but Kakashi stopped him. "Naruto, don't." Kakshi said in a stern voice. "But Kakashi Sensi, that guy just crush her, Sakura could be hurt! Don't you care!" kakshi look at Naruto, he knew he had to calm him down on naruto might get out of hand. The flashback of the nine tails chakra leaking out during the Zabuza fight flashed through Kakshi's head. "Naruto, look very closely."
As the sand receded the limb body of Sakura could be seen falling to the ground. The whole crowd gasped, but Kakshi, Shikamaru , and the Jonin were calm. "That Sakura for you," Kakashi said smiling. Then Ino figured it out, "I see it." Naruto was confused, he didn't know what was going on. Ino decided to explain. "Naruto, there is no blood, that's a transformation technique." Naruto got it, but he still didn't know where Sakura was, until he seen the hole in the ground.
Gaara didn't notice the lack of blood, he was ready to leave as he though he won. But all of a sudden, a powerful force emerged beneath Gaara smashing through the ground, punching his up in the air. "SHANAROOOOOO!" Gaara was surprised, he didn't know what this sensation was, how did she hit him, she was dead. Why was she this strong, what was she? Kankuro and Temari were stunned, Gaara has never been hit before. "This can't be good." Temari said in a frantic tone. "Such strength, he reminds me of...kukuku."Orochimaru thought to himself. Gai looked at Kakashi, "So that is her special ability. That level of chakra control is hard for even Jounin to utilized. that is some student you've got there." Kakshi was proud of Sakura, "Truly amazing, she was able to learn this just from the tree climbing exercise... we've got two genius's in our team." Kakshi thought to himself. "Sakura isn't the type the flaunt her power or ability, she has always been a tad bit protective of thing concerning Sasuke, but I never thought.

Sakura send the chakra to her feet to jump up in the air with Gaara," Not so fast." Sakura recalled the moves Sasuke used while performing the lions barrage and thought she'd at a twist on it. "I may do be as fast a Lee san and Sasuke kun but they are as strong as me." Sakura said as her and Gaara were suspended in air barley missing the sand.
"Another one copying the dancing leaf shadow." Gai said a bit jealous at how good this kids were. "First Sasuke and Naruto, now Sakura. Looks like they inherited your title of copy ninja." Kakshi analyzed the move with his Sharrigan to see what Sakura was going to do. "The chakra, is stored in her fist then release upon contact, such a feat require precise control and pinpoint timing. Even my sharrigan cant copy it." Kakshi thought to himself. Naruto smiled, "Sakura is amazing, and scary.....I never knew how strong she was, she's been holding back on me." Naruto said to himself, mesmerized, yet terrified. "She may even be as powerful as me." Lee was also mesmerized by Sakura's ability, he was falling more in lover with her, not only was she beautiful and smart, she was also strong. Tears of admiration flowed from his eyes, " I knew that Sakura-chan was worth fighting for. I will win her over."
"SHARNAROOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Sakura clenched both of her fist and smashed both of them into Gaara's chest causes him to smash into the ground breaking the space around him.
"Blossom Barrage!"
Sakura jumped back away from Gaara's body on to the opposite side of the arena, panting and out of energy. Those chakra attacks were pretty taxing. Gaara was dealt a great amount of damage but the sand cushion most of his fall."This sand is going to be a problem, that was my strongest attack, and he is still able to move." Sakura said as she continued to catch her breathe. Sakura watched Gaara like a hawk, she couldn't let me sneak attack her. As Gaara got up the sand seemed to store itself around his body as if it was creating a shell of some sort. Sakura knew that she only had enough chakra to for a few more enhanced attacks, and she had to use them wisely before Gaara back her into a corner.
Gaara moved his hand sending his sand to Sakura again this time it was shaped into a spear like projectile. He seemed different his eyes were blood lusted and he sound like he was some sort of monster. Sakura jumped backwards to the wall, knowing that it was too late to jump out of the way, she used her chakra to adhered to the wall then released it to propel herself forward rushing towards the sand projectile. Sending the chakra to her fist she hit thru the sand smashing her way right through it, the force of the punch in addition to the jump was power enough to create a vortex behind her distorting the sand as she passed. "This is it, time to give it my all." said Sakura, as she headed towards Gaara. Gaara caused his gourd to turned into a dome like shield around him before Sakura reached him. He knew an attack like that would be fatal, even through his sand shell.
Sakura finally reached Gaara, but she missed him, the sand dome block his fist just in time, she was only able to penetrate it. "Dammit im stuck, and Im on my last reserves." Sakura said as she tried to remove her fist. she tried her very best to remove it but the sand was to tight, and seemed to be getting tighter. Sakura looked behind her and noticed that the sand behind her was closing in on her.
"Sakura get out of there! Use your monstrous strength." Naruto yelled!
Ino was surprised at how strong Sakura actually was, "Sakura must really love sasuke , just when someone threatened to hurt Sasuke."
The sand continued in on Sakura!!!!!!!
