Well, Edo or not, he didn't wanted to hurt Asuma, right? It means the fact he was Edo has nothing to do with it. He didn't wanted simply because he was emotionally weak, but he changed in that fight. Kishi spent an entire chapter to show us Choji change and the fact that after that, he crushed Asuma, was to show us that he changed. I don't know how it's hard for you to understand. So yes, if he is forced to fight Kakashi as a ennemy, i see him fighting and going all out

Hizashi was defeated by his brother Hiashi, choji was just holding him till he gets sealed. That is why Hiashi was standing their wàiting aswell. Kakuzu was fighting a plethora of opponents, he could have been defeated by dairu. We don't know.

He only has raw power and size. that's it. A good ninja can easily over come that with speed or Intelligence.
