From my series The Seed-Epic Action Scifi Adventure set in the the year 2120 Still in the making with many motifs to popular anime series and science fiction films. It Combines Science and Technology with the paranormal and supernatural. This character is first met by our protagonist Redford Cross in Tokyo and is part of an advanced unit that investigates and stabilizes paranormal phenomena as well as recover alien artifacts. Each member of this unit is highly skilled in different ways. Ryu is not known for his combat prowess but rather his ability to control and craft insect like droids that do his bidding. He has always been fascinated with insects for their super powers and unique abilities and mimics what nature has done in his one of a kind robots. He has several that are worth mentioning and each will have a description of their capabilities and circumstances that they would be utilized in.
Spider Droid-name pretty much sells it. He usually carries 3 of these droids on every mission. Their outer coating can change its appearance to match its surroundings which comes in handy when doing recon and surveillance missions as well as surprise attacking victims. Their legs make them able to traverse any surface and they also can create webbing traps and nano wire traps that are nearly invisible to the naked eye making these droids perfect for capturing live targets or entangling large amounts of enemies. Their six eyes capture many different formats of video scanning in night vision, thermal, electrical energies, infrared, abnormal energies and chemical vision.
The Centipede Droid- These long robots mimic the fast movement and nature of real centipedes but at a much larger scale. They wrap themselves around their victims either shocking them or stinging them with their poisoned barbed needles at their tail section. Their front pincers are also deadly having the ability to cut threw solid titanium. They also have the ability to detach segments of their armored sections and detonate them as high explosive bombs. Mainly used for capturing and sabotage missions, they are also helpful against targets using exosuits and robotic sentries.
Bee bots. Ryu's favorite tool of tiny destruction. They are the real size of bees but what they lack in size they make up for in numbers, like his other droids they communicate with each other on the battlefield. If one finds a weak spot in a heavy Mech unit or exosuit, every bee knows how to get there. Each can supply high quality video for surveillance but are mostly utilized for their numbers and stingers. Each bee may hold a deadly venom or one that just paralyzes the prey. If stung by one others will sting until the target is dead or disabled. As with the other droids every bee has the ability to self destruct and this utilized with the sheer number of a swarm can have violent results.
Overall Ryu is a highly valued asset to the team and many are thankful he is on the good side. This character was obviously inspired by Shino one of my favorite underrated characters!
