[Spoilers] Chapter 581 - New Jutsu: Izanami

Itachi using Izanami is a win/win. If it doesn't work he'll more than likely regain any lost sight from the jutsu due to his regeneration abilities caused by Edo Tensei and try something else. If it works he'll be able to release all of the Edo's, *along with himself*, and never have to tell Sasuke the truth which will continue Sasuke down the path of battling Naruto again. If the latter happens, Sasuke will try to ask Itachi about the truth and Itachi will go back into his coffin without giving a "good enough" answer and during that time Kabuto will sneak away.
I'm just wondering will releasing the Edo's send them back into their coffins and then they're gone or will it just release Kabuto's control over each one of them and they still need to be sealed?

No-one is probably going to pay attention to my post but...

Does anyone else think that when Itachi said "[Izanami] has already been prepared..." he was referring to the previous chapter when he made eye contact with Kabuto before dispersing into crows?

Think about it. There's a close-up on his Mangekyo when he says that line, and although Kabuto said he's immune to eye techniques, it may not be the case with Izanami.

Just a thought. You guys can steal this and make a thread if you like xd

This is what I also thought when I seen him disperse into the crows because in every one of his previous battles, anytime that this happened he'd already got his opponent in a genjutsu. Nice observation!

First off I'm not a Itachi hater, or a fanboy of anybody, but that's gotta be the most OP shit I've ever heard of. I mean, if you have the power to control someone's destiny what the hell is the point of anything? Why are they even fighting? Itachi can go into the DBZ universe, and make Goku go suck dicks on the streets of Central City for the rest of his life if he wanted to.

I have a couple ponders I would like to share.

What if Itachi does not need Senju DNA? I mean Madara was able to pull off Rinnegan. I remember Itachi mentioning the true power of the Uchiha. Maybe one who is smart enough can advance beyond what is considered possible, no?

I mean we need to look at what exactly does Hashirama's DNA actually do? It has regenerative properties so maybe explains why Danzo used it to increase the time limit of Izanagi. Its regenerative properties allows certain cells or molecules to regenerate allowing a sort of extension to any or just a certain type(s) of jutsu(s). Based on speculation and myths, like everyone has been trying to explain, maybe Izanami is able to show the true form of something since in the myth Izanagi lighted a comb? and was able to see what she looked like and saw a monster. So much to speculate about.

Izanami? hmmm I did hear of this about 5 months ago on the pedia as well. Looks like kabuto is open game for Itachi now. Sasuke hasn't changed his mind at all.

Since itachi said he dont need to make eye contact to cast genjutsu maybe izanami works when you make physical contact with the caster, hence why he said "izanami" when kabuto attacked him......

1st of all I am not surprised at the introduction of izanami, i predicted that kishi might use it been so that izanagi & izanami related in Japanese mythology. But thought it would be given to Naruto and it wouldn't an uchiha but a uzumaki jutsu.
1. No it does not require senju DNA.
2.i would say u loose both eyes
3. If it's opposite of izanagi I would thinks it jams all preventions & regeneration jutsu
4. And as far as the jutsu itself I would say the opponent can't prevent themselves from injury.

I'm going to stick with what Itachi said, and say it determines the fate of your opponent. Since Izanagi turns reality into a genjutsu, Izanami would turn genjutsu into a reality?

Also, since it's a pair, it would only make sense that you'd lose your sight after using it, just like with Izanagi.

I have no clue what Itachi means with it being prepared. Maybe just that he has a strategy on how to use it efficiently on Kabuto and the translation is crap? Wouldn't be the first time :\
