Tbh i already knew what it did a will back because i read on myths anyway and the way kishi has said what izanagi does, it makes sense to assume that izanami would be the opposite.

So izanagi casts genjutsu on the user and turns reality into illusions.

With izanami it casts genjutsu on the opponent and turns illusions into reality. Therefore basically itachi can determine any of his opponents fate with this jutsu alone.

Also he is dead anyway therefore even if he loses and eye, it doesnt matter although due to edo tensei he might regain it back. He might be using edo tensei's regeneration abilities to his advantage

I also knew this izanami tech shit was coming just a matter of time because i read the mythology as soon as izanagi was shown in the manga so its obvious that if kishi used the names for his techs from the myth. then obv there would be izanami. I agree that since itachi is an edo his regen. abilities will help take care of the lost sharingan...hopefully..well at least now we know how kabuto's gonna be defeated and how he will end up stoping edo tensei.

I'll just wait and see whether Itachi can actually use it (in his non edo form and whether it requires Senju DNA) and how effective it actually is, before I pass any judgement xd

itachi doesnt have senju dna lol otherwise he would have still had KA and be using it

so, alot of talk about this. but here are some good points to be made:

Itachi cant use izanami to end ET. he told Sasuke he'd talk to him and he'd explain the truth. If ET ended Itachi would disappear and Sasuke would just continue to go after the leaf village which, im assuming, Itachi would like to prevent.

Izanagi, turns reality into illusion. Sasuke had crushed, slashed and burned Danzo and his body would fade into nothing, like it never happened. So in opposition Izanami should turn illusion into reality. But then again, is this truly possible? If that were the case, Itachi could have taken down "Tobi", Kabuto or anyone else whenever he wanted, avoiding this entire war. He could have used it to take down "Tobi" when he first discovered him.

A good point has been made about losing his sight. as long as ET is active, Itachi should just regenerate back to his prime state.

A good question, if Itachi can turn things into reality, could he not just bring himself back to life, or any other dead person? Could he make an illusion of him copying any jutsu of any ninja known and make it real?

With all this in mind, we can expect an amazing chapter next week xd

Seeing that Itachi has this technique that means Tobi is going to have it too. No wonder Tobi isn't even scared of Naruto even after stopping all the tailed beast on his own.

It's interesting that izanagi requires both senju and uchiha dna, so you would think izanami would be the same. so how did itachi obtain senju power? Possibly took some from Naruto when he and nagato attacked him... or maybe even from nagato's body (not sure if itachi can get dna from an edo though). And that may be what he means by it's been prepared.

I see what you guys are saying about Izanagi turning reality into dream and that izanami should be the opposite. But if itachi can turn any genjutsu into a reality, after imagining Kabuto to stop edo tensei... could he then use genjutsu to make sasuke not want to destroy the leaf with his other eye?

Also, maybe what izanami does is change something about the recent past. Im saying this because itachi says it has already been prepared. In the last chapter, Sasuke missed kabuto with the arrow just like he did when they fought that boar. Maybe, Itachi knew that sasuke would miss but set everything in motion anyway so that he could use izanami afterward to change kabutos fate in that instant and make the arrow hit and then changing the outcome of that little scene. Dunno... seems unlikely maybe, but would be way less OP then itachi doing anything he can imagine...lol.

yeah forgot that ET would just regenerate a new MS most likely. This would all make itachi just insanely OP if he can really turn imagination into reality.

but my theory is that shisui uchiha was the one to use izanami on itachi and history repeats itachi will use it for sasuke sake thoughts?

Is this jutsu really even effective in 1v1 threads? I am a fan of Itachi, but, techniques that have effects like losing an eye are not winning IMO. It's like saying Minato seals (insert name here) with Death Reaper Seal and he wins. Well, not really because he dies in the process. An uchiha losing his eye is just too big a price to pay, I would not count that as a win. Unless Itachi wants to commit suicide, (without one eye he loses ultimate defense) he wouldn't use that technique. Anyone else feel that way? :shrug:

i know everything xD Izanami makes the user able to make his/her genjutsu into reality rather then Izangi which turns reality into genjutsu.He wont be able to fully use it though as he doesnt have the rinnegan nor does he have senju dna.

itachi murdered the uchiha clan he could have hundreds of sharingan.

maybe the Izanagi requires two uchiha members to execute, since izanagi and izanami are siblings.. im guessing it's izanagi performed on user's uchiha partner instead of the user himself. kinda like two sharingans link and covering each other.

there was a page were itachi asked sasuke if he knew izanagi.and the last page stated that the jiutsu was prepared. my guess is that "izanami" user grants the "izanagi" user to alternate his reality(izanami user) rather than the izanagi user himself. *and since the izanagi user does not use it on himself,his sharingan would not loose its light.

this would really suck if it requires two uchihas two perform. Besides Sasuke, its only Tobi wit Uchiha blood in the manga.I doubt they'll be willing to use it together.

My personal opinion is that Izanami is not much different from Izanagi. Izanagi is cast on the user himself while Izanami may be cast on the enemy.

Both turn reality into illusion.

An example why Izanami would be a counter;

Danzo casts Izanagi on himself to cheat death. Itachi casts Izanami on Danzo to make Izanagi into an illusion, rendering his Izanagi useless.

it is a special utchiha forbidden jutsu.
adding senju dna will only reduce the time for the light to come back
