I think either Kakashi is going to beat Sasuke here..and after he finally decides to deliver the final blow to kill Sasuke off, Naruto will be there just on time to stop it; or it could be either way around Sasuke beating Kakashi and Naruto stopping the final blow, but if Sasuke beats Kakashi I don't like the story to where its heading because if that happens, even though in a weakened state he still can beat a Jounin level ninja. and that makes him a very powerful ninja. and that I don't know how can Naruto can catch up with Sasuke if that happens.

I echo the overwhelming sentiments against Sakura being 'reverted' to her pre-Shipuuden genin abilities. Imagine killing a missing-nin and a high-level criminal with only a kunai, and not even having the firm resolve to execute it, that is even if she is now to do it the second time? Ridiculous.

Sakura's superhuman strength, could have made her attack exponentially faster and deadlier. But we don't see any hint of this ability in the recent Sakura. Sad, indeed. But it is now very clear that she could not and would not kill Sasuke. She is broken within, so there is no superhuman strength that would come from within her. She is powerless now.

Sakura x Karin. Anyway, it is remarkable the 'tearful' connection that was made between Sakura and Karin. Though I don't know how Karin's statement that 'this Sasuke is not the Sasuke you know' would affect Team 7 in their decision to kill former teammate Sasuke. It is indeed expected now that Karin would turn against Sasuke, or more properly the Madara-influenced Sasuke for all that he has done and shown, esp. to her. And she will indeed be a precious resource for decoding Madara's plans and abilities; the same way they were able to decode Pain... and defeat him.

The source of Sasuke's unlimited chakra. Most important is that Karin seems to have an unlimited chakra reserve; she is the reason why Sasuke is still standing with not even a sign of going out of chakra, even after battling against five kages. Twice did Karin come to replenish fully Sasuke's chakra (and once before, after Sasuke almost died from Deidara's suicide blast). That is why Sasuke was even able to pull successive Susano'os.

Kill Bill Sasuke? But one obvious reason why Sasuke will survive this scenario, is that so far not one of the four other characters present has yet to make the firm resolve to kill Sasuke. Of course, they have to show that they actually can, esp. Kakashi, just to prove to Sasuke that he was flatly wrong. There indeed is a great difference between 'can' and 'will'. It is not that they couldn't kill him because they did not have the ability since Team 7 has actually killed before; or because Sasuke has an absolute defence for we know that the Susano'o isn't like that, more so now that he has eye failure. It is because they wouldn't kill him. Even if they can.

How about Naruto? Will Naruto kill Sasuke? I think he can and he will, eventually, as he would have ran out of choices. But as of this encounter, I still doubt it. Naruto was only able to do what his sensei did -- save and defend Sakura. And I don't see him reactivating his Sage Mode that sooner or that easily in this fight.

Kakashi put it upon himself to end Sasuke thereby absolving Sakura of the burden, as a sort of atonement for being a bad teacher, but so far, he has not even made any attacks. So Sasuke as of now remains basically unharmed, even in his sorry state of losing his eyesight. And I guess he will remain to be so. I guess Naruto, Kakashi, and Sakura can only have the resolve to kill Sasuke in the event of self-defense, or saving Konoha.

The maxim remains the same: Stop Sasuke at all costs but without necessarily killing him. Dialogue would be the first line of offense and defense. They would try to save Sasuke first.

But how can anybody save someone when that someone does not want to be saved?
Salvation can only come from within one's self.

Kakashi was right somehow to redirect Sasuke to a happy memory in his heart, but sadly, Sasuke missed the redeeming point (which makes me all the more suspect that Madara-black Zetsu did something really awful to his soul, blinding his proper judgment, the same way, they made the Third Mizukage do ruthless ninja practices in the Bloody Mist; and yeah, like how Shisui's sharingan was used to influence Mifune in favoring Danzo as the head of the alliance).

The image inside Sasuke's heart is that of laughing children -- and that was how Itachi wanted things to be. He wanted the next generation to be happy, even if he is not to share in or enjoy that happiness. That is, because he will have to be the one to sacrifice his own happiness, his own life, for them. And 'them' would include first and foremost, his own brother - Sasuke. Itachi saved not only Konoha, but also Sasuke.

Sadly, Sasuke is not seeing himself in that picture, which is Itachi's vision. So right now, Sasuke is entirely blaming Konoha for his brother's death. And to this, I would really love Kakashi giving him a no-holds barred rebuttal, "But you were the one who killed him remember?"

And then something to this effect, "You, Sasuke, are blind, both your eyes and your heart. If you don't see yourself, then neither would you see anything at all. And you wouldn't see Itachi for who he really is. It is due to your foolishness, to your blind thirst for revenge, that you lost your brother, and until recently, with what you were doing, that you will have lost your clan entirely. You are right, I cannot bring back Itachi nor your family; no one can. But if through Itachi, you have lost your family and your clan, then only through Itachi will you be able to revive them. You have to be one with Itachi, your brother, you have to know his secret: You, Sasuke, are his life. You are Itachi's hope, and the salvation of the Uchiha. So don't lose yourself, and don't throw Itachi away. He left you a gift and a task. And we... WE are here only to help you. Be sure of that."

So that's it, ladies and gentlemen: I am romance-less hopeful. And I do hope we'll see Itachi's gift to (and task for) Naruto soon. XD

ok The big day has come, the original team 7 has finally been reunited for the first time in part 2. Kakashi is able to see a little action in this chapter as he stands toe-to-toe with Sasuke in a Mangekyou Sharingan duel. But like was mentioned last week, there wasn?t a lot of expectation that the fight will go for very long; with Naruto?s arrival, we can be certain that Mr.
Uzumaki will be stealing the show from now on. However, don?t expect much of a confrontation ? Sasuke conveniently losing his sight just as Naruto arrives puts a damper on prospects of a huge battle next chapter. This week, I just want to first take a moment and talk about how disappointed I am with how Kishi has been handling Sakura?s character lately.

When Kishi had Sakura in a starring role and actually have her battle the Akatsuki member Sasori at the start of part 2, I took that as a signal he is finally taking her character seriously and will be developing her into a stronger kunoichi in the future. But since then, her character development has been pretty much stagnant and has took a real dive into the useless department again in the latest story arc.
I?m wasn?t a huge fan of Sakura to begin with, but I think Kishi should?ve been more consistent in how he develops her character ? otherwise, it?ll just make more people hate her character. I felt that what Sakura did in this chapter sets her back about 250 chapters and puts her right back into the token-heroine/damsel-in-distress category.

Was it really necessary to show readers a second time that she doesn?t have the resolve to kill Sasuke? Sakura had the perfect opportunity to sneak up on Sasuke in that scene, so even if she couldn?t bring herself to kill Sasuke couldn?t she have knocked him out (I?m sure she has the strength), used one of those sleeping gas bombs, or do ANYTHING else other than close her eyes and stay stunned.
I can?t believe Sasuke pulled out another Susano?o just like that. This time, he even pulls out the version of Susano?o that Itachi had when they fought, which makes me wonder if perhaps Sasuke will eventually be able to use the sword and shield that Itachi?s Susano?o had.
I think that?s about the 500th time I?ve ranted about how limitless Sasuke?s power level has become recently, but you all get the point so I won?t bore you anymore. I?m just glad his eyes finally burnt out and Sasuke gets a taste of what his brother had to go through for years.

I had hoped the battle between Kakashi and Sasuke could have lasted longer than this. We got to see (well, kind of) Kakashi?s Mangekyou ability countering Sasuke?s Susano?o, but I would have liked to see the two of them exchanging high level lightning jutsus as well.
There might be a chance that Kakashi gets some more action in the next chapter, but the odds are low with Naruto?s appearance. At best, he will provide a supporting role for our main hero, particularly if Madara plans to crash the party. Though with Sasuke in his current condition, it?s more likely Madara will only stop by to teleport his prized possession away rather than waste time in a pointless engagement.
Sasuke?s blindness is probably only temporary, but it is a sign he is following the fate of his brother. But one has to wonder if Madara has been after Sasuke?s eyes all along, why did he let Sasuke go this far and damage the goods he wants so badly? Are there further conditions Sasuke must meet before Madara will harvest his Sharingans or does he have something more sinister planned? It?s been a long wait, but Naruto is finally reunited with his ?brother.? For quite a while now, Naruto?s friends and peers have echoed what Itachi had told him during their encounter in the forest: the old Sasuke is gone, are you prepared to make the impossible decision when you face him again? Up to the very second before Naruto arrived on the scene at the end of chapter 484, Naruto still believed he could save Sasuke without killing him ? even if it meant going against the rest of the world; that?s the kind of stubbornness Naruto has had since the beginning of the series.

Yet, I believe the sight of Sasuke actually attempting to kill Sakura of his own free will is something that?s going to have a great impact on Naruto?s position on Sasuke. Naruto can forgive Sasuke for attacking and hurting him in the past, but when Sasuke turns his blade on someone like Sakura, I think that is where Naruto will have reached his threshold.
There?s something in his eyes on the last page which seems to say: ?you?ve crossed the line, Sasuke.? For next week?s chapter, I?m expecting some action but a lot more talking. The timing isn?t right yet for a serious confrontation between the two of them.

Sasuke will get rescued by Madara and Naruto and team will return to Konoha, bringing Karin with them. It feels like this arc is drawing to an end, let?s hope the next one will be more Naruto and Konoha focussed as they prepare for Madara?s war and Sasuke?s inevitable assault on the Leaf.

the nc site is down again; something about shared IP. oh well.

since our excitement about the first MS vs MS battle is stymied by both the presence of sakura and naruto now; and add to that the wrong timing of sasuke losing his eyesight and of kakashi's expressed love for sasuke. But since kakashi claimed he would carry the burden of executing sasuke from sakura, would he really kill sasuke? how?

would kakashi teleport sasuke entirely to another dimension thereby trapping him there forever, or would he just transport some parts of his body, e.g., his head thereby killing him? what happens by the way to the people who are sucked in to another dimension, e.g. to fu and torune?

i do hope we'll get to somehow know the reason why or how kakashi was able to develop his sharingan to an MS. Did Itachi show him some clues during their encounter? Or does the fact that only two other Uchihas have sharingans now and the power of the sharingan is shared only by these two and then Kakashi? Or does the fact that the Sharingan 'god' granted Kakashi the MS means that it is not exclusively loyal to the clan?
As of now Kakashi is the only MS wielder that is good. Does this mean that the Sharingan somehow adheres to the rule of the yin and yang? And Kakashi is the light part? It is surprising to note that Kakashi does not seem to lose his eyesight from excessive use of the MS, but only becomes weak? How was it that the MS effects on Itachi is different than Madara, Itachi, and Sasuke? Is that because these three got their MS by killing their brothers/best friends and Kakashi got it some other (the good) way?

These questions to Kakashi's mangekyou sharingan is far too important in the story
that i don't think kakashi is gonna die before this mystery is divulged. Kishi, after he has developed the narrative with the MS motif, must truly have a convincing explanation as to the major role and significance of the sharingan in the story; and to think that our main character does not have it means either he has the ultimate counter to this (like being a senju or having the 'special power' that minato wanted him to have against madara [+sasuke]), or he has someone who has this ultimate counter to the evil MS (this one must be Kakashi).

Melo, you were write with the better translation of the manga. Anyway, I was thinking about your post and Naruto and the special jutsu that his father wanted him to have. I think that the 4th Hokage realized that the jutsu needed chakra and saw an opportunity to obtain it and left all that Naruto needed to complete it. This is why I think he sealed only the good half of the demon fox. Jiraiya saw another way for Naruto to complete the jutsu, as a sage. This is why he thought him all that he needed to know to prepare him to learn the techniques from the Toads. Sage energy is easier to control than the demon fox's chakra. In conclusion, Naruto will be able to stop Madara and all he has to do now is completely learn the jutsu. Sasuke will be beaten and will have to be saved by Madara as we know that Sasuke is an important piece of Madara's plan. Now he, Sasuke, will have to take Itachi's eyes.

I also want to point out that Naruto is still in sage mode. With his Rasengan, he can't lose.

I know the answer, the 3rd choice. Naruto will hold Sasuke and throw TOAD OIL on him. As a toad/frog, he will not be able to hurt anyone every again. Go TOADS! (aka, old Nintendo game named Battle Toads). LOL So I had a good laugh with that one. One option is to over come Sasuke with Rasengan and then use Rasengan-Shuriken on him. The damage will destroy his chakra system leaving him unable to mold chakra for the rest of his natural life. He might be able to see it with his Sharingan but he may not have any chakra to escape. But, we know Kishi, and we know that Madara needs Sasuke so we will definitely see Madara at that little battle. For all you know, Madara already know that Naruto is there. He did promise that Naruto and Sasuke will fight. This might be the plan to force Sasuke to take his bro's eyes. Remember that he, Sasuke is already going blind in both eyes due to jutsu over use.

Chapter 485 turned out pretty much as predicted: some action but mostly talk. My opinion on this week?s chapter is a little mixed, it was a bit too predictable what Naruto would say and how Sasuke would react.
I was somewhat surprised Naruto and Sasuke would repeat their scene at the Valley of the End so quickly after their reunion; it was bound to happen but I thought it would occur much later.
The thing that disappointed me in this chapter, though, was Naruto?s immediate reaction after what happened last week.

Even though I knew the chances were nil, I was expecting Naruto and the others to give Sasuke a good thrashing before they started talking.
Sasuke is riding so high on his recent achievements right now that giving him a bloody nose via Naruto?s fists could bring him down to earth and maybe, just maybe, knock some sense into him.
My ideal scenario for how this chapter should have unfolded would be for Naruto to lose his composure after seeing firsthand Sasuke make an attempt on Sakura?s life, and pretty much clean his clock.
I mean, after Naruto said all that stuff last chapter about deciding how to deal with Sasuke after seeing him for himself, this would be the natural reaction wouldn?t it?

Regardless of prior bonds, if a former friend attempts to murder a close friend right in front of my eyes, my initial reaction would certainly not be to tell the attacker that ?I understand why you did it.? In Naruto?s case, most of the information he has received so far is from the mouth of Madara, so he is basing his ?understanding? on what could very well be fabricated lies or half-truths.
This is why Naruto?s reaction to this situation confuses me. Certainly, Sasuke?s hatred for the leaders of Konoha is justified after what happened to the Uchiha clan; but there is no ?understanding? about how murdering Sakura, someone who had no involvement in that event, would serve any purpose other than to feed the hunger of a homicidal maniac.
If I were in Naruto?s shoes at that moment, I would definitely not be able to keep my cool.

Naruto must really have faith in his ?third option? for dealing with Sasuke, but I?m still baffled by how he just brushed aside what Sasuke had just done.
If he was a few seconds late, Sakura would probably be either dead or seriously injured right now, but Naruto doesn?t even say a word to her after arriving on the scene.
His attention is entirely focussed on Sasuke and all he says in Sakura?s defense is to remind Sasuke that ?she is part of Team 7 too?? so does that mean it would have been alright to attack Sakura if she wasn?t part of team7? I wish Naruto would have shown even a little more concern about Sakura?s wellbeing in this scene, this is his chance to score major points with her but he?s only providing more proof that he is as obsessed with Sasuke as Kishi is.

Ever since they arrived on the scene, Sakura, Kakashi and Naruto have been fighting amongst themselves about who gets to attack Sasuke next.
This encounter with Sasuke is so clumsy and poorly managed when compared to their last reunion. Even though the result from the meeting in Orochimaru?s lair was nothing to praise about, at least the team stuck together in the end. But this time, Kakashi, Naruo and Sakura all arrive on the scene separately and each has their own way of dealing with Sasuke: Kakashi has the will and ability to kill Sasuke, Sakura intended to kill Sasuke but has neither the ability nor will, and Naruto has the ability to kill Sasuke but has no intention to.

There seems to be so much confusion that Naruto even uses a clone to hold Kakashi down so he can go head off Sasuke?s attack, potentially putting his sensei at risk. If Naruto would go that far in order to make sure he is the one that deals with Sasuke, then he must have already made up his mind on the course of action he will take.

As for the Chidori & Rasengan clash itself, I liked how it was reminiscent of the same scene three years ago, but this time Naruto has matured more and will choose the option he did not have last time.
My only complaint is that, unlike last time, the build up to this scene is pretty much non-existent so it takes away from how significant this event actually is. Naruto was also scratched with Sakura?s kunai, which according to Kakashi is poisoned, so I?m betting Naruto is probably going into this in a weakened state ? how convenient (does this scenario remind anybody of the battle between the Sannin?).

I?m still having trouble accepting the blind faith Naruto has in rehabilitating Sasuke; usually when someone is actively committing serial murders, it?s a sure sign that the kiddie gloves need to come off. But maybe I should have more faith in our main character and this ?third option? he?s putting his life on the line for.

Oh, and good for you Karin. It?s difficult to get out of an abusive relationship, but you just took the first step. Here?s a piece of advise for girls, ?bad boys? may be fun to flirt with, but don?t take them home ;p

I think Naruto didn?t acknowledge Sakura almost getting killed because she was warned not to interfere or go off and face him on her own, she knew the risks, and I don?t think attacking him would right off the back would have gotten him to return but this way doesn?t seem to be working either.

Another thing thats bothering me is, I wonder if Kakashi is truly strong enough to kill Sasuke ( I know we try to avoid thinking this way) but look at the facts, Sasuke?s been using Susanoo and Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi and Chidori and summonings and other jutsu since his fight with the Raikage and Kakashi uses his mangekyou one time and already feels weakened, I just think it?s time Kishi gives Kakashi a chakra boost or stamina boost because I hate seeing him depicted as weak!

the last couple of weeks this is going to be a rerun of sorts of the Sannin battle:

Sakura is like Tsunade, she has some hangup that prevents her from fighting properly.

Sasuke (eyes) is like Orochimaru (arms) in that a big part of his arsenal is handicapped.

Naruto is like Jiraiya now since he is poisoned, although I thought Kakashi might have been since he was weakened by MS.

I thought this was a good set-up chapter, and even though some people have said it was lame for Naruto to be weakened here, I think it is rather poetic that they mirror their former masters.

dont think that we will see the gift that itachi gave naruto until it comes down to him needing a last gasp save. I think that itachis gift is the gift to control the nine tails. only a uchia can control the nine tails and as far as we see the kyubi isnt the same as the hachibi that can easily be resoned with and can be made friends with. just as the 4th appeared to naruto when he need him, i think itachi will do the same when naruto desperatly needs him, such as goin u against a complete susano, or maybe even against the ten tails.

I kind of see where the whole direction of this manga is going. We all may have been (I know I have) on Sasuke?s ?progress? lately.
Sasuke had a lot of screen time and with each week showing new abilities, summons, weapons, etc. But this chapter shows how limited Sasuke has grown, and showed how much Naruto has matured with his powers.
Naruto has taken on the role of the protector of Konoha. The scene with the Chidori and Rasengan may have been rushed but it will reveal more of Naruto?s character in the out come.

Sasuke right now is like a two year old with too many toys to play with. He is in this unshakable tantrum. Basically, Naruto walks in calm as can be and basically declares, ?I?m gonna make you call me DADDY!?.
This arc may soon end but if Sasuke still want to carry on his intention to destroy Konoha, then he is going to know that he need to go through Naruto. All of Sasuke?s power never gave him anything more than a new ability. But Naruto has this aura around him that makes him more than just someone who can weild powerful jutsus. Naruto has the ability for people to want to get behind him and support him. I can?t wait for the next chapter.
