Taking a few minutes to think, he then gives his answers.

"1! I would like to learn Katon to increase my own arsenal of Jutsu and my versatility as a shinobi in combat, for the sake of my village!"

"2, Katon's weakness is water, Suiton! It's a fact of nature that water douses and puts out fire. More specifically, it absorbs and dissipates the thermal energy caused by fire's combustion."

"3, Katon is strong against wind, Fuuton! The principle is similar to fanning a fire, it causes it to become stronger because more oxygen is directed towards the burning flame! In battle, Fuuton only helps to increase Katon's potency."

"4. The Uchiha clan are some of the most renowned users of Katon! Sasuke, Itachi as examples. The Sarutobi clan, with people such as Lord Hiruzen and Asuma-sensei use Katon as well. I also distinctly remember the Akatsuki member Kakuzu using Katon as well!"

"5, two KGs that have Katon are Boil Release, Futton, used by the Mizukage Mei, a combination of Fire and Water. Another one is Lava Release, Yoton, which combines Fire and Earth!"

Castiel was rather impressed by his young student.
"Okay now I want you, to take this piece of paper from my hand, and try and send your katon based chakra into the paper, if you do it correctly the paper will ignite and crumble into ashes.

This time I want you to use as much detail as you can, when explaining it!"

Kotetsu (or Ausar? Am I supposed to be the character or user? lol) takes the special chakra paper from senpai.

"Senpai, I know this paper is affected based on one's chakra nature/affinity. So if I had Suiton affinity, it would get damp, and Fuuton, it would split, as if cut by wind. Hopefully, I have Katon, and the others!"

Placing the paper in between his palms, he forms a clamshell around it, enclosing his hands around it. Closing his eyes, he starts to focus his chakra in his palms, applying the same principle of the Tree Climbing technique he had learned back at the Academy. Beads of sweat form as he continues to concentrate...

thinking: please, please work...

After about 30 seconds, he feels something warm in between his hands. He opens up his hands slowly. To his overjoy, the paper's ignited and burning very slowly.

"Senpai, senpai, look, I did it!" He's a little proud of himself.

( Ryu Kaen Bakufuu ) - Dragon Flame Blitz

Description: The user shoots balls of fire at the opponent.

I want you, to gather up you katon chakra in your mouth then shoot small balls of fire at your opponent.
This is really just a basic technique, I would only use this to start a small short range fire or something, or even just to use in a combo, it isn't something I'd use on it's lonesome.

One/three advantages (no obvious ones, be creative):

• 1. Being a D-rank ninjutsu, it is not as hard to master or utilize in battle. It's low chakra cost makes it a powerful tactical tool in the hands of a skilled wielder.
• 2. Being a fire type ninjutsu, it can overcome even C Rank Wind ninjutsu.
• 3. Fireballs can be used defensively, a distraction tactic, or a surprise attack. For example, if my opponent were to pin me down, I could spout these fireballs into their face, acting as a distraction, a defensive, and offensive tactic.

One/three disadvantages (no obvious ones, be creative):

• 1. The short range of this jutsu makes it completely ineffective in mid or long range battles.
• 2. Other than an inherent disadvantage to Suiton techs, it's D-Ranking makes it weak against much higher ranking jutsu.
• 3. The damage/chakra cost ratio may not be nearly as efficient as other jutsu.

How you would use it in battle: as a last resort tactic in close range fights, or as a means to Gauge's an enemy's strength without having to rely on more powerful, chakra-costing techniques.

How you would counter it: being an incredibly basic jutsu, any higher ranking Ninjustu should be sufficient enough to counter it. Perhaps the slow speed of the casting would make it easier to evade, and the conspicuousness of fireballs would be easy to read.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): upon receiving senpai's teaching, I make the necessary hand seals required to activate the technique. Kneading the chakra using the hand seals, chakra forms in my mouth. I feel the sensation of encapsulating chakra, and it gets warmer and warmer in my mouth. My cheeks puff up ad well. Once I can no longer hold in the amount, I open my lips, making an "O" shape with my mouth. I "spit" a few fireballs at a target that senpai had set up. By performing "spitting" motions with my lips, I am able to control the amount of fire chakra each fireball contains. I continue this until I no longer have any more kneaded chakra in my mouth.

( Kaen Shuriken Ranbu ) - Blazing Shuriken Dance

Description: The user will throw several shuriken at the enemy and then inflames them with fire to cause extra damage.

Okay, grab several shuriken out of your ninja tools pouch, gather your katon chakra up in your mouth. Throw the shuriken then breath out the chakra from your mouth, to inflame the weapons.

The only really obvious down side is that you have to be close to your target.

One/three advantages (no obvious ones, be creative):

• 1. Such a Jutsu enhances shuriken combat. If my enemy were to throw a regular shuriken, my fire enhanced ones would be able to beat theirs.
• 2. Combining a ninja tool with ninjutsu opens up more options in combat, in terms of tactics and positioning. Instead of having a Jutsu go a certain path, for example, these flaming shurikens can be thrown such that their trajectory is more unpredictable, causing flaming death to my opponent from a blindside!
• 3. The cutting power of the shuriken is increased, it can cauterize wounds or even burn an enemy's clothing off, causing more damage.

One/three disadvantages (no obvious ones, be creative):

• 1. Any water technique would douse the fire and stop the shuriken in its tracks.
• 2. Depending on the number of shuriken thrown, even if mine are ablaze, they may be easily stopped by a larger barrage.
• 3. If I don't have shuriken, the probability of executing this technique is diddly squat.

How you would use it in battle: I would use it as a trap, or even throw shuriken at environmental factors, to serve as a signal, position detector, or even a source of light in dark areas.

How you would counter it: with any large scale suiton technique, or a larger barrage of shuriken/kunai. I could also parry them away using my own ninja tools.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): Taking a couple of shuriken from my pouch, I hold them in my left hand in a "fan", much like a card player holds their cards. Throwing the shuriken in a spreading arc, I then quickly concentrate and form the hand seals, gathering and kneading chakra in my mouth much like the previous technique. I close one of my eyes, focusing on the flying shuriken. I then start spitting fireballs, hitting most of my thrown weapons, igniting them as they fly towards my targets.

( Katon: Komakai Kaki ) - Fire Release: Small Fire

This is honestly as basic as they come, simple and pretty straight forward if you ask me.

• 1. Fireballs are just naturally awesome.
• 2. Makes me feel like an Uchiha; overpowered but overrated.
• 3. Wind Jutsu become fodder in its presence.

One/three disadvantages (no obvious ones, be creative):

• 1. Fireballs are too conspicuous and can be blocked by sufficient elemental Jutsu such as an Earth Wall, or equally opposed by a greater or equal fire Jutsu.
• 2. Who uses D-rank ninjutsu as their main form of attack? lol
• 3. Makes me feel like an Uchiha =.=

How you would use it in battle: Short range attack in desperation. Also to impress Kunoichis with my fire breathing skills

How you would counter it: The same Jutsu, or a more powerful element of higher rank.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): Wondering about this particular Jutsu, I do as Senpai instructs. Forming hand seals and gathering fire chakra in my mouth; almost exactly the same way as the first Jutsu. However, instead of spewing small, multiple fireballs, I release it all at once, shooting a sizable fireball at senpai's clone. Some smoke leaks out of my mouth after performing the technique.

( Katon: Kasumi Enbu no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Mist Blaze Dance Technique

Description: After performing the necessary hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Tiger, the user is able to create and blow a flammable gas from their lungs. Once it comes in contact with fire or sparks, the gas ignites into a large fireball.

Perform the required hand seals then exhale flammable gas from your lungs.
This an okay technique when someone else uses a fire technique since it can give the fire a boost in power, but then again it's short range. ._>

Ah, protocol. Understood. The more jutsu the better, right? And another name change? Good stuff, senpai ^^

One/three advantages (no obvious ones, be creative):

• 1. This Katon Jutsu is unique in that it does not actually release hot, kneaded chakra, but a gaseous substance similar to combustible gases such as methane. A foolish enemy would mistake this for a Fuuton jutsu, and most likely counter with a Katon... much to their surprise.
• 2. Can be used in conjunction with a teammate or with my own jutsu to create quick, unsuspected combos.
• 3. If we're having a barbecue with fellow shinobi, this jutsu can help start up the grill when combined with a Katon, eliminating the need for a gas source.

One/three disadvantages (no obvious ones, be creative):

• 1. Hand seals can be time consuming. If I forget one or make a mistake (highly improbable), I'll be at a disadvantage.
• 2. This Katon Jutsu can be turned against me; a powerful Fuuton Jutsu can simply blow the gas back to me; and if I make the mistake of following up with a Katon at that same instant... well, ouch.
• 3. D-rank short range. Too basic to damage the Gods of NB unless I fight dirty.

How you would use it in battle: I'd throw explosive kunai around the field. Then, I'd blow the gas in the area of the kunai. It would result in a much more potent explosion, boom! Or, simply use it to catch other Katon users off guard with the deception of elemental advantage.

How you would counter it: Blowing it away with a Fuuton jutsu, or an equal/greater force.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): I perform the hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Tiger, and my lungs fill with the gas. My cheeks puff as I release the jutsu; the gas is clear but still somewhat visible. It smells of evaporated gasoline.

I then quickly follow up with Katon: Komakai Kaki, spewing a fireball towards the gas cloud. It burns up, causing a large flame that dissipates after combusting.

( Katon no Jutsu ) - Fire Release Technique

Awesome, last of the D ranks! So does this mean you'll stop training me, or can we move on to higher ranks or different elements?

One/three advantages (no obvious ones, be creative):

• 1. Mid range capabilities makes this justu more versatile than the previous ones you've taught me.
• 2. As a result of this better range, it can be the preferred D rank Katon jutsu over the others. Can be fired from the hands or mouth, and is more powerful.
• 3. Possibilities of better combinations are opened up as a result of increased range.

One/three disadvantages (no obvious ones, be creative):

• 1. Still a D rank. Not super effective unless used wisely.
• 2. Fodderized by Suiton Jutsu.
• 3. Attack is too slow to be considered effective in faster fights.

How you would use it in battle: As a fast way to rack up damage or in conjunction with a Fuuton jutsu to increase its potencey.

How you would counter it: Most Suiton or higher rank elemental ninjutsu. Attack speed may be slow enough to easily dodge. Substitution, clones, etc.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): Gathering fire chakra in my mouth, I then release a stream of fire in a spitting motion that burns another target that senpai had set up. Wanting to explore the versatility of the jutsu, I then start gathering fire chakra in the palms of my hands. Then, outstretching them in front of me, I am able to release streams of fire from my hands.

( Katon: Shōkasou ) - Fire Release: Small Fire Stream

Description: The user will create a small short flame at the opponent. This flame is capable of making the target collapse due to the heat of the technique. This technique requires no handseals.

I want you to gather up you katon chakra then, release it from your mouth in the form of a small short flame, send it towards your opponent.

Good things; no hand seals, pretty basic & can do a lot of damage to low level RP'ers.

• 1. No hand seals required.
• 2. C Rank is stronger than most D rank jutsu; the fire is stronger than any of the previous jutsu.
• 3. Can be used quickly and effectively as distraction or fazing.

One/three disadvantages (no obvious ones, be creative):

• 1. C Rank, utilitarian but not anything exceptional
• 2. Suiton still fodderizes
• 3. Short range, ouch.

How you would use it in battle: In a close range taijutsu fight, I could find an opening and spit fire into my opponent's face/body. As per the jutsu description I could stagger and collapse the enemy.

How you would counter it: The same jutsu, suiton, or one of higher rank.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): Gathering Katon chakra in my mouth, I then cup my mouth and release a short flame. I notice the flame is stronger and hotter than previous jutsu I've done. It surprises me for a moment as I adjust my concentration and adapt to the increased magnitude of jutsu. The flame is sustained until I run out of Katon chakra in my mouth.

Description: After performing the necessary hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger, a ninja inhales air, and utilizing a large amount of fire chakra, spews a large fireball from their mouth after blowing through a ring made by the thumb and index finger of the user, incinerating everything in range. The fireball ignites externally.

Perform the required hand seals, inhale some air then by gathering up a large amount of katon chakra in your mouth, spew it out into a large fireball, after blowing though a ring made by your thumb and index finger.

• 1. The ring shape made by my fingers allows me to focus the attack, making it more accurate and concentrated.
• 2. The trademark Jutsu of the Uchiha clan, can be extremely powerful for someone who specializes in Fire Release
• 3. Perhaps one of the more powerful C Rank Katon.

One/three disadvantages (no obvious ones, be creative):

• 1. Hand seals can be time consuming.
• 2. A "misfiring" (pardon the bad pun) could injure the user's arms.
• 3. If the user has no access to his or her arms for some reason, it renders the Jutsu unusable.

How you would use it in battle: as a nice more powerful alternative to defeat weaker enemies with an incinerating inferno, or in combination with ninja tools or other Jutsu, perhaps like Sasuke's stunt in the Chuunin exams where he tied up Orochimaru and burned the wires with this Jutsu.

How you would counter it: a high rank suit on or defensive Jutsu. I would also aim to try and disable an opponent's arms; a samurai's laido would stop hand seal formation.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): I perform the hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger in quick succession. I feel a surge of Katon chakra gathering in my mouth, and I quickly use my left hand to form a ring shape in front of my mouth, using my thumb and pointer finger. I then release the Jutsu, streaming the fire through my fingers without them making physical contact. The Jutsu is focused but bellows out into its full power once it gets far enough away from me. It forms a distinct teardrop shape, and bellows out, creating a large flame. The Jutsu continues until I have run out of Chakra.

Description: The user first throws out a lighter that has an open flame.The user the turns the flame into a wall of fire used for protection or to burn small objects thrown towards him. This jutsu can be used with Hurricane Fist to create a combo jutsu.

First take this lighter I hand you, that has an open flame, gather your chakra up then release the chakra from you mouth, using the lighter, you should be able to create a wall of fire.
