Yeah it's hard to fight magic in comics without magic and I'm not sure how the star brand would defend against magic since it's energy based. But even if Strange beats him, if he kills him the energy blast is said to be strong enough to take out Beyonder.

by Classic Strange I assume you mean not being able to magically create weapons like now. I'd go with Strange but I don't know a whole lot about Fate. Strange was called the mightiest magician in the cosmos by Eternity and he has more magic relics at his disposal.
