Naruto kept the life force of gai. He kept him alive by an unknown tech: it's medical feat, people can try to look at different angkle, only the result matters: he got saved.

Recreating kakashi eye via the body of the user can be both scientific research on cloning and medical application of the previous point.
Even though I think he reconstructed it via DNA or the other eye as a model. It's still medical related technique, but far more advanced than known by NV at that time. (It's like he has gone thorugh the gate of truth of FMA in a way, and gained knowledge he can't comprehend but can use)

The death caused by the 8 gates is not a normal death, the person literally disintegrates. I haven't seen sakura's regeneration reach a point where she can recreate entire limbs, so there's no reason for me to believe she can heal gai through this method.

Arm =/= eye. Just because tsunade can create an arm that works doesn't mean she can also create an eye. & Besides, using hashirama's dna kind of invalidates your point since hashirama's chakra = ashura's chakra = naruto's chakra. So it's still naruto's chakra that created the fully working arm, tsunade couldn't have made one without the proper dna.

And yes she can revive a gate user, just a more complex version of what Tsunade used on lee. The gate user wont die if he is being regenerated.

That was his chakra network that was sparking up again, the result of naruto preventing his death. How do you know if the body can be repaired after using the 8 gates?
