Can someone please explain Nagato>itachi

Itachi only defeated Nagato because it's how the story goes, Nagato was seconds away from defeating the 9 tails and 8 tails at the same time, so that shows how powerful he really is. Also he was still at a disadvantage because he lacked mobility so he still wasn't 100%. the only advantage Itachi has over Nagato is his Yata Mirror & Sword of Totsuka but Nagato could just spam Shinra Tensei to avoid Itachi getting close enough to even attempt to seal him. None of Itachi's ninjutsu will work, taijutsu won't work, He only has genjutsu and Nagato probably has ways to fight genjutsu users.

Also when kabuto was controlling him he was focusing on capturing B and naruto so itachi took advantage. One on one nagato rapes itachi.
