Knowing all the jutsu in Konoha, Hiruzen is probably well placed to counter such a jutsu by using something Fuuton based. Hiruzen is likely to defeat Hashirama simply because he possesses knowledge on Hashirama's abilities. That's what people don't seem to get. Hashirama is certainly more powerful than Hiruzen, but Hiruzen seems more skillful and his expert knowledge is what throws the match in his favour. It's not all about mountain busting techniques you know.

i doubt it, Oonoki had to destroy an entire forest, it isn't as simple as blowing away pollen you will have to destroy the flowers

it goes both ways, they had a student teacher relationship and both know each other, hell i even think hiruzen knew less about hashirama's fighting style cause the only person on whom hashirama could use his full power was madara and vice-versa

even Oonoki knew shit about the perfect susanoo and he lived during that time.

I don't particularly know, I don't have full knowledge on all of Hiruzen's abilities myself. But he was capable of ending BOD before. And let us not forget, Hiruzen seems well trained in the art of Genjutsu aswell.

This is what i hate people making up things that they believe is true in the series. Now why else would he say something like that. U have no proof madara or hashirama only use their full power against each other. Both of them died young n it was said hashirama died in battle.

yes he was but not so much now

and i agree hiruzen was at a disadvantage due to his old age but you simply cannot see his last fight as a victory over the senju brothers.

the databooks just repeat his hype given by characters
