Can Sasuke Recognize Clones?

So as we've all seen there are a ton of threads going around about Naruto currently using a clone against Sasuke but Sasuke can't recognize the difference. Can Sasuke's Sharingan and Rinnegan actually tell the difference between clones and the real enemy? I feel like I read that dojutsus can see them but the manga keeps showing characters like Nagato and Madara being fooled by clones, so which is it?


No opinions, just MANGA FACTS please.

I'm a bit rusty on this topic so all help is very welcome.

Nagato was never owned by a clone he was owned by misdirection.
At no time did he ever confuse the clones themselves with Naruto.
And madara was an exception as a mokuton clone is nothing but life force.
It's not chakra which the sharingan can see.

Naruto disperses his chakr evenly, so no, he cannot. Otherwise he would have known where the real Naruto was. Not even the byakugan could, Neither Neji or Kaguya was able to see through Naruto's clones.

Madara could see passed HASHIRAMA WOOD clone for some reason that is unexplained, maybe because he had great sense and could see small things that only the original would do. And since they knew eachother so well, Madara knew how to single out the real one from the fakes. Which is why Madara was the ONLY person to ever see through his clones

No Sharingan only sees the color of chakra, which is why they are blinded by the Hidden mist jutsu. Clones all look the same color as the original so Sharingan cannot differentiate between them. The only Doujutsu that can diphicer between shadow clone and real is the Byakugan.

That being said, Sasuke knows Naruto well enough to rely on other senses when dealing with Shadow Clones so it isn't all that difficult for him to peg the real Naruto.

Yes, that's what I'm getting at too. There have been some moments where clones are completely recognized. It just seems inconsistent.

Lol obviously he knew where Naruto was at the time because the real one was standing right in front of him and talking to him. I posted those panels to show that a dojutsu user can't track the chakra of clones. If the real Naruto was blended as a rock too and the clone was talking to him instead, do you really think Nagato would have known the difference?

Neji deactivated his Byakugan when he was lawding over Naruto. Tha'ts why he was taken by surprise. He let his guard down. If you recall that same fight when Naruto first did Kage Bushin, Neji bypassed the other clones and went right for Naruto directly commenting that Naruto couldn't hide from his Byakugan with clones as he could see his chakra points.

Yes, that's what I'm getting at too. There have been some moments where clones are completely recognized. It just seems inconsistent.

It just depends on the level of insight from the particular eyes.

Kaguya couldn't tellt he difference, and she was tricked more than once by the clones.

Unfortunately this was Kishi being inconsistance. It was mentioned back in part I that only the byagkugan can see through clones. And as we've all seen, a number of these rules that once held true or no longer the case when Madara entered the frey.

I only remember from the anime, but I'm pretty sure Neji actually got a shadow clone. Naruto mixed the real him with the clones, and left a decoy clone behind to fool Neji.
