kurama tried to attack him before sasuke casted the genjutsu, after sasuke casted it, all kurama could do was beg for help, it couldnt move, same with the other bijjus.
Right...he was physically suppressed..not mentally suppressed. I already showed the panel where Kurama is visibly struggling to attack him even after being caught. But you got it.
Well doesn't that just mean that it is simply a Genjutsu like Kaguya's.
No because Kaguya's TSUKUYOMI involves a clear illusionary aspect, which is what genjutsu (illusionary techniques) is all about, while it's unclear whether Sasuke's genjutsu actually causes illusions. I'm going off what genjutsu is supposed to do by definition, not whether or not a target is simply paralyzed. The illusions/false images/5 senses being altered is what defines genjutsu.
Nor am I trying to say Sasuke's Rinne Gen isn't real genjutsu. I feel like that's what some of you are getting out of what I'm saying but that's not the case. I'm simply saying it's special compared to traditional genjutsu and stating my reasoning.
The first step is to connect to the victim eventually robbing them of movement and consciousness
No. We just established that with MT, the first step of the light casting clearly doesn't rob you of consciousness, only movement. That was the point of the Hinata example you threw out and I used. The consciousness is taken away when the illusions begin, after being wrapped in the cocoon.
with the end result being complete paralysis, and then places them in an illusion wherein the caster can extract chakra from the victim.
Paralysis =\= genjutsu. Extracting chakra =\= genjutsu. There isn't a clear example of Sasuke's Rinnegan actually causing illusions or altering any of the 5 senses. We only see it physically suppress the bijuu, just like a chakra rod would, which is also specific to Rinnegan so what I'm saying is not so far fetched.
The only thing that's visibly clear from the brief moments of Sasuke's jutsu is that it physically stopped the bijuu. We don't get to see the other bijuu except for the initial casting, so we can't determine their mental state. But we ARE shown Kurama a few times before Sasuke traps them in CT. In them, he's physically stopped but clearly mentally in tact, something that wouldn't normally be the case under most genjutsu. And he remained so from start up until being put in CT, as he tried to attack Sasuke before the casting, we see him still trying to struggle and attack him, then see him ask for help even as the last rock in CT traps him for good. I posted the scans already.
If it's like Kaguya's I don't think it's bijuu specific, or just used to subjugate them
It clearly not like Kaguya's, which summons a giant tree to trap you in an infinite dream :|. And no, it may not be bijuu specific, that was just something I threw out there. But it doesn't matter. The point wasn't that Sasuke's Rinne Gen isn't like normal genjutsu because it's only for the bijuu, but it's not like normal gen because it doesn't appear to do the one thing that makes a genjutsu a genjutsu by definition.
To me, it's a unique form of genjutsu. But either way, not much else I can elaborate on with this so you got it
