I think he can. He defetead Kakuzu without kyuubi's help.

I think he could survive with out it. If it was removed or if he never never had it in the first place he would be fine. Recall that Kakashi stated that 3/4 of Naruto's chakra is being used to supress the Kyuubi. Jaryia also hinted at this when training him. (sorry about the spellings)

I don't recall Naruto using any of the Kyuubi's chakara against Kakuzu.... If he did, it was just to use its chakara in order to form the RasenShuriken, but yes... If it was not for the Kyuubi, Naruto would be dead now- he would've died against Haku....

almost all of you have gotten it all wrong.

Why is this Manga / Anime so good? becuase he is a child nobody wanted. He is useless to everybody. But he fight his way back to show the world that He can use the Kyuubi to do good things. And first he only used the Kyuubi (sasuke vs Naruto (when sasuke is leaving KONOHA)) but he is fading it out more and more. NO! he wouldn't have gotten this long way without it BUT know he can defeat a strong oppenent like PAIN almost without Kyuubi. that is pretty great

Yeah, it's great. But what is being discussed heres is if Naruto can survive without the Kyuubi, and he can't. If he never had it in the first place he would be fine, he could possibly be better, problem is the Kyuubi was sealed into him at birth. The bijuu's chakra is like a drug, his body has grown with it and has gotten used to it, if the Kyuubi were to suddenly be removed he would eventually die. Proof of this is that the only Jinchuuriki known to survive an extraction is Gaara, because that old lady gave him her life essence. Even Naruto's mom with her Uzumaki blood didn't survive the extraction for long.

yea he did but naruto would have never made it that far if it wasnt for the kyuubi

im completely agree! i was just trying to use an example where he didnt use it and won a major battle. if it wasnt for the kyuubi naruto would never of been able to master the kage bushin no jutsu with out a doubt...he would of just been just as useless as the rest of the ninja that graduated the academy that werent on teams 7 8 and 9, but if you think bout it all of those teams there is something that stands out the most out of all of them...the blood lines, the specialities, and inner demons obviously have something to do with it...there wouldnt be a series at all if naruto never had kyuubi because he wouldnt of been such an outcast the series would of been called sasuke and would be about avenging your family or honor or something along the lines. plus its not just the kyuubi that has let naruto get this far its also the fact that he never gives up and never takes no for an answer sure hed be dead if it wasnt for the enormous power of kyuubi inside of him but its also his ninja way that keeps him going not to mention his way of turning people to his way of thinking...a couple of examples would be zabuza and nagota (or pain)!

i agree with maxpaynner cuz if he didnt have the kyuubi sasuke would have killed him at the valley of the end. he gave him a chidori threw the chest. and gave him a pile driver from the top of the cliff and both of those times the kyuubi healed naruto and told him he was weak and to be greatful for the 4th of sealing him in naruto. and on top of all that sasuke still won naruto is whack

Every jinchuuriki deserves the power they get from their tailed beast. If Naruto didn't have the kyuubi inside him, then he wouldn't have been shunned by the villagers. Therefore, he wouldn't have the dream to become Hokage because he was not shunned by the villagers.

I can throw those words right back at Sasuke. Sasuke wouldn't have been able to do all that crap he did to Naruto without the cursed seal. As we can see from the battle at the top of the hospital, Naruto and Sasuke were pretty evenly matched. If it was a fair match, without the use of the kyuubi and cursed seal, theres no telling who would win between Naruto and Sasuke.

Well now he can do pretty good as he has perfected sage mode plus his improved skills in ninja tactics wise over the timeskip and his determination to never give up thats why he's the most unpredictable ninja xD

he would have been a wonderful ninja without it...........
obviiously having kyubi has many positive point.........
but it was due to its presence that naruto failed all his exams........
