Can Kaiten ( Heavenly Spin ) block and reflect Shinra Tensei?

"All that is made of chakra...is useless against Jyuuken ( Juuken? )" That is the Hyuuga line. Kaiten is one of the Jyuuken ( Juuken? ) fighting styles and Shinra Tensei can repel any attack. But since Pain has the rinnegan, we know that he excels in ninjutsu, which could mean that Shinra Tensei is ninjutsu so is made of chakra.

Now suppose Pain had to use Shinra Tensei on Neji, for example, and he used Kaiten, of the same strength as Pain's attack ( an assumption so that Kaiten isn't overwhelmed by the other's attack ). Do you think the Kaiten would block and reflect the Shinra Tensei or the Shinra Tensei would repel the Kaiten and Neji along with it...Neji and Pain both have THOSE EYES so that could be an additional tip to help you decide which side takes this...
Byakugan= excel at Taijutsu
Rinnegan= excel at Ninjutsu

This is like some kind of Neji Vs Pain battle but it is the only way to bring out the idea...

So, what'cha'll think?

Good question. Even with the Kyuubi's chakra, it was still able to repel Naruto's attack during the Chunnin exams. If the Shinra Tensei is ninjutsu, then there's a good chance Neji would at least be able to nullify it with Kaiten if he could match Pein's power. Not likely, but possible.

Remember that Byakugan has not a complete vision. Its something like 359? of 360?. Shinra Tensei could break through this angle, cause he knows these weak spots.

I was wondering the same thing!! maybe it could block a small scale shinra tensei but it couldn't do anything against the ones Pain used against the toads or Konoha... so what could block shinra tensei? can you defend against it or you just have to avoid it and go for the 5 second interval?? what do you guys think?

The only thing that can repel an attack that is PURE CHAKRA... is a defense of equal force...

I am thinking specifically of Naruto is Kyuubi mode vs Orochimaru... when Naruto sent Kabuto flying backwards with just a yell... lol.

Is that not the equivalent of Pein's attack?

It's a good theory but i don't think it will happen,i think neji will just help buy time with the others for naruto to get the 5 second gap that he needs.Shikamaru will make a plan to help naruto buy time and the others will work together to help him.Still a good theory though but with byakugan and sharingan deriving from rinnegan i think shinra tensei would flaten neji
