Rikudou sennin live about 300+ year before itachi was born.Rikudou era was origin of ninja arts and war ,which mean tshinobi in the past were not advance as current generation ninja arts because new jutsu and battle experience have develop.Rikudou will be powerful limited to the jutsu he experience,he was a priest which mean he was not born for battle like the uchiha clans and other clan are currently.
Beside Itachi SOLO KING Reputation in the manga,Itachi was consider to be wise as a hokage at a very young age,he do alot of researches and have alot of knowledge of the ninja world than most ninja,even Hashirama stated that Itachi is a better shinobi than him.Itachi have KA from shsusi eye (store in itachi crow) which can one shot rikudou senin if they make eye contact.Itachi also possess Yata mirror which have a counter for any ninjutsu and Totsuka blade which can seal anyone it pierce.Itachi base speed is above average because he was able to keep up against naruto and killerbee in battle
