By delivering Sarada Karin feels connected to Sakura and Sasuke, as being the one who delivers the baby is would make anybody feel proud plus it's the baby of the one you liked, that cord is symbolic for the ties that bind Karin to Sakura, Sasuke, and Sarada, Karin meant it in a figurative stance than a literal standpoint.
