Well Amaterasu does burn forever until it burns away it victim. It looks like Nagato will be burning for eternity. The only thing I have seen that can stop Amaterasu flames is Jiraya's flame suppressor

If anything Amaterasu can leave a Edo immobolized, but burning something like a soul is a bit silly don't you think?

Fire is Fire. Amaterasu is only different because it never extinguishes like I said there is no evidence of Amaterasu being able to burn something non tanginble like a soul.

Danzo didnt use KA cuz he used it on Mifune, so he had to wait, when he could, he used the Doroyoku to capture Karin, he wanted to use KA on Madara, and he didnt expect Sasuke to stab him through his teammate.

Pain was a good person to begin with, he had every reason to believe in Naruto. No one had ever pushed Pain to his limits like Naruto did, maybe except for Jiraiya, but Naruto actually annhilated the Six Paths and made his way to Nagato, who was already coughing up blood from the Chibaku Tensei. On top of that Naruto let himself get stabbed by the chakra blade and resisted his chakra from 3 feet away!!! Thats a winner if I have ever seen one, and that fight was over right then.

The words Naruto said to him were the same that Nagato said to Jiraiya, when Nagato was himself and actually had ideals and faith. That is what made him have the realization.
