Despite not having God teleportation, mountain bust moves, or space warp eyes, he's still making the Narutoverse's top tiers helpless because like a real ninja he used stealth and took advantage of an available option. Not only that, but waited for the opportune moment to complete his goal: Yin Kurama.

Black zetsu was using the other half of white Zetsu's body to fight chojiro.

Black Zetsu itself is just a huge blob...

Also black zetsu isn't even a ninja (no headband/village).

He's not even ranked (so below genin)

Doesn't even know any taijustu, ninjustu, or genjustu.

The white part that he attached to only knows like 3 Justus.

There not even fighting types, all support Justus.
