Have you ever felt that large class sizes are what makes discussions horrible?

Say a professor asks a question. It takes forever for a student to respond. This makes it look like the class is not prepared. But really, it’s the diffusion of responsibility.

Are teachers not aware of this? I’ve seen them get angry over this. That’s when I respond and answer questions, but then I become “that” student. I don’t like being the know it all.
