Byakugan and Sharinga

Well, yeah but once the sharingan becomes the mangekyou....susano'o overpowers it compared to the byakugan (tho I wouldn't say no to the byakugan if it could see through clothes...maybe that's why hinata likes naruto more than Sasuke, compared to the other girls)

While the byakugan is superior to the sharingan in a few ways, it's obvious that the sharingan is ten times better. I mean it has three friggin levels past the first one! And basically, when you get to Rinnegan, it almost does the same thing as Byakugan, only to a watered-down extent. I'd just like to know how the Byakugan sprang up.
