That water spike tech is usally used from above, drilling down the opponent, but ill get rid of it anyway

Im at total disadvantage here, being in the middle of the lake and all, making the best of it i guess.

Also, rules say
The Substitution technique has been finally restricted to one use per battle (1 time). Only 1 use of a substation or replacement techniques will be allowed per battle.
And the fact that the tech is call Water Replacement, its still a replacement tech, no matter how you use it.
