this shit is absolutely unbelievable, no religious belief could convense to ****ing set my self on fire! Tell me what was the outcome? What did his actions yield? nothing! The world is still a ****ed up place and babys die every day, this shit does not stop, suicide or not, no matter your intentions. Live, dont rush death, it's inevitable, we all have our date with destiny. There is nothing we can do once we have crossed over, true ones death can inspire and spark change, but 99% of the time your life is much more meaningful than your death.

The human race is far from in danger of extinction, so people have the leisure of grasping onto philosophies and ideals and are willing to make sacrifices to stand by those ideals. Back in the day, humans wouldn't have the awareness (Can't think of a better word) to do it because they're so focused on survival.

aww I see, so your saying that, suicide is brave? My friend their is nothing brave about killing your self its a cowardly act, death is easy, life, life is hard. No matter how agonizing ones death might be, it could never match the cold harsh winter wind of life, death is a gift, life is a curse we are to endure and learn from so when our time NATURALLY comes, we may pass on all that we have learned to the next generation. "If you say hey ima going to commit suicide in hopes other's will learn" how will they? You cut your self down before you could reach your full potential and therefore teach those very same individuals all life has to offer if you just strive towards the light rather than the dark that we are so easily swayed by. IMO of course we are all entitled to our own beliefs.

NB cannot be filled with this many morons, this is not the first time a Buddhist monk has publicly light himself on fire, though this attempt seems more sparatic and nonsensical, I believe both instances had a point which was, they could no longer bear with what the current state of Humanity is and will eventually become.

Please don't belittle this person or his religion for the sacrifice he has made, you might not believe but he believes enough to withstand Death by Fire, that is enough to give respect where it is due.

Imagine if people were actually genuinely good and did good deeds not because they are supposed but out of the goodness of their heart, in his mind he sacraficed himself for you, me and the entire Human race.

A narrow minded buffoon would see this as nothing but tomfoolery but an intelligent individual would view this as the ultimate sacrifice.

It's nothing new in religion since fire symbolizes being reborn into your higher nature. They're just taking it as a half truth and way out of context, and this is what happens. He'll be questioning his high priests development the next day though and probably leave his monastery.

Wait.. What? The person I replied to was wondering how the human race got so far, so I gave her an answer. I never stated suicide was brave, or anything along those lines. I stated that people will stand with their belief enough to die for it. If you feel all people commit suicide because life's too difficult then you've got the idea of those who do actually kill themselves wrong. While a few people may do that, a majority don't kill themselves because life's difficult.
