Hey look a thread upon a topic which i've already covered. Nice job anyways, +Rep.

Was it? I've lurked here awhile (would never let me register) and while I've seen clones brought up, I've never really seen them talked about much.

Either way, glad I wasn't the only one who wondered why they weren't used more this way!

And awesomeseimei, the clones themselves did have a drawback in that overuse of them could drop a persons chakra to 0 and kill them.

Of course, Naruto seemed to have what amounted to a bottomless reserve of stamina, so for him it basically was a non issue.

I know, I thought you meant specifically Naruto's usage, with the now-friendly Kurama and all. After all, him being able to use the Mass Shadow Clone (which is a kinjutsu anyway) was something unique to begin with due to his chakra reserves etc.

Now think about how OP a sharingan and shadow clone combo would be. It would be possible to learn hundreds of jutsus daily.

Always wondered this. Naruto could've potentially done a Hiruzen (mastered all elements). Even Orochimaru would've been jelly of all the jutsu he could learn. Instead he just kept doing shitty clones and spamming rasengan, occasionally on a larger scale *sigh*.

With his friendship with Sasuke as well as Kakashi, Tsunade, and others... Naruto is in a position where he could, in theory, learn and advance way more than all of them combined.

He could learn almost as fast as Sasuke could, even faster in some situations. He's got way deeper stamina reserves than even Tsunade at her best. He's got access to Sage mode, and a built in ally/chakra pool with Kurama.

Of course they couldn't do that in the manga or anime as he'd be unbelievably and laughably broken beyond the point of anything being able to deal with him. But it would have been nice to show something of that kind growth early on, not just big power boosts, but real growth in training and skill... something that could hint at just what could lay ahead in his future as he kept growing and training.

It's a pity really. Just a few more jutsu would've been nice. For versatility sake. He could pull off some insane combos and put a sage twist to it in the actual fight to add more of a surprise etc. That's why Sasuke's battles are so much better than his :/ Narutos fighting style just lacked creativity which made it repetetive most of the time.

Indeed. I don't actually mind large-scale attacks, but it's just too much when power is spread so unevenly between characters. Not to mention, most ninja who specialize in non-combat tasks don't really seem to matter when there are those who can freely destroy mountains.

Ideally, more characters should have shown gradual increase in power. Sure, some would be still stronger than others, but not to the point where just one can destroy almost everyone else... At once.

kishi got waay too carried away with madara and had to insanely buff naruto and sasuke to combat him
if he had gave other characters more development and maybe if they got stronger, kishi wouldn't need to buff the main characters

they literally got buffed in a couple days (manga time)
the power creep was ridiculous
