So, a few people wanted to see this, so I'm posting it. Critique is more than welcome.
Brisk Winter Air
The brisk winter air was taking its leave;
Snow on the concrete fading away.
The world was coming alive I believe,
Thinking of you on that ominous day.
Trees that were bare, just beginning to flower,
Painting the world into nature’s symphony.
Winter’s frost replaced by spring’s showers,
Trying to placate the season swiftly.
Beauty and grace filled the air,
Hinting towards the warmth for which we yearn.
The day was so rich, the mood was so fair;
Not once did I think it would take such a turn.
That one call of my life; I was so ill prepared,
For that damage-
That mountain-
That colossal despair.
My fragile world that had always been so tightly bound,
Perched on its spool, it quickly unwound,
When that brisk winter air took you in its leave,
Like smoke in a breeze; leaving me to grieve.
