If that was the case haven't we seen Orochimaru's snakes helping him? I myself am Sasuke's fan but it was crystal clear that the curse mark didn't enhance Sasuke's occular ability to the point to be an equal in the slightest,

Itachi and Obito said it themselves- the tsukoyomi can't be broken unless you have the mangekyou,

yes, it was implied by them both that itachi let him break it. After all, Itachi knew he was going to die very soon regardless, so that fight he had to let sasuke win whether he was really stronger or not.

Itachi, like he stated, knew sasuke would eventually take his eyes. So, even though sasuke didn't have the MS yet, itachi knew eventually he'd get it and then use his eyes[itachi's] to get the EMS. So it was a win-win as long as sasuke or akatsuki didn't catch on(too bad he didn't know tobi knew so much).

Indeed itachi was going easy on sasuke. During the fight itachi did not extend the time within the illusion to the same level he used against kakashi. Against kakashi 1 second outside was 72 hours in tsukuyomi realm. While against sasuke was probably 1 second in the real world was 100 seconds in the tsukuyomi realm.

Why do people assume that Itachi let him break it?

1. Sasuke got hit with Tsukiyomi full-force twice before when he was younger that left him a drooling mess, he didn't note anything different this time.

2. It was never stated that Itachi let anything happen.

3. Itachi had been trying to make Sasuke stronger, what was the point of that if Itachi was just going to baby him?

4. Can Itachi make Tsukiyomi weaker? It's a super genjutsu granted by MS and it's function is to cause mental trauma. That's like saying when Itachi used Grand Fireball, he didn't make it very hot.

5. Itachi didn't say that only an MS can break it, he said no one can break it, which was just a hollow boast; everything is beatable.

6. Tsukiyomi can be resisted, and apparently broken, with a strong mental fortitude. Kakashi showed resisting it before, and Sasuke broke it with his intense resolve to kill Itachi.

Though no matter of his enhanced powers the moon eater wasn't used to it's fullest, let's get over it. Tsukoyomi was unstoppable at this point.
