Arid... That word brings back memories.
Arid, plainly means to be without water, or extremely dry. Arid is a combination of wind and katon chakra that's evenly mixed, allowing someone to dry out the moisture out of their surroundings. *Looks at your CE submission* Arid is similar to scorch release, although without the the flames that are manifested. Arid is quite awesome tbh, it allows the user to dry out the moisture out of the opponent causing muscle fatigue and light-headedness.
I know the strenghts and weakness of arid. Arid is weak to solids, so Earth and Rock based elements as Arids main use is to dry the moisture out of the opponent. If the opponent is covered in Doton, the arid will just repel off the rocks, thus not making contact with the opponents moisture rendering it useless. But, if the user was to use a lightning technique followed by an arid to break off the rocks around the opponent, it would be put to great use. Also, arid is weak to theose Katon elements. Due to the intensity of the heat, it has the power to over power arid, thus rendering the atmosphere around useless making the user unable to mold arid chakra.
Arid has several strengths more than weaknesses. Arid has the ability to almost instantly evaporate water, thus rendering the opponents water usage useless. With no water the opponent will become dehydrated, thus leaving them open for attacks and causing muscle fatigue as said earlier. Arid is strong to wind as it will get rid of all the moisture in the air. Now to those special elements, such as wood, ice etc. Arid has the ability ti dry out the moisture out of it. So with Ice, Arid is the best things to use, as arid can evaporate the water aspect while also dealing with the wind aspect of the ice. Now to the wood. As wood is filled with moisture, one the water has been sucked out of it, the wood would become very brittle causing it to not be effective. With fungi its the same thing, Arid has the power to suck out all the moisture out of it rendering it useless.
