Anything new in terms of material that wasn't mentioned in the movie isn't canon. Please show me the confirmation of the novel being canon.

With all due respect I accept the anime as canon and it's called Boruto its essentially about him so they're going to give him screen time. It's natural others would look obsolete.

The stats are also cannon and meant to be post anime so around the manga time. They convey the full context of his abilities and everybody else's for whom they've been revealed.

Until new ones are revealed they're officially cannon we can't pick and choose what we like and discard what we dislike.

It could be that the genin are meant to be quite intelligent and Boruto is at a basic level and that's quite a high standard. Since its no longer war or about churning out genin like in Naruto. The new age are living in a different type of world. We need to look at the stats in that context and not the context of the past.

Pure fanfic at its finest. The series and marga are called Boruto and gives him more screen time si he does look better. The stats however are official and to give us an understanding of the characters and there levels relative to one another. They make up for the discrepancy of screen time favouritism.

The stats will remain official until new ones come out deal with it. Sarada is overall superior to Boruto until then.
