Animes are often made for promotional purpose too. Anime shows on TV do not recover much of the investment. It's the manga volume sales and CDs or other merchandise.

Itachi shinden consists of two novels: The first, Book of Bright Light (光明篇, Kōmyō-hen) was released on September 4, 2015 and the second novel, Book of Dark Night (暗夜篇, An'ya-hen) was released on October 2, 2015. These novels were adapted into an anime series, Itachi shinden Book: Light and Darkness in early 2016.

Sasuke shinden consists of only one novel, the Book of Sunrise (来光篇, Raikō-hen) which was released on November 4, 2015. This novel will be adapted into an anime series in the winter of 2016.

They may animate them all if it helps them in promoting the franchise. Shinden published last September only got animated. It was yet to catch up with other Naruto light novels.

The light novel on the movie was among the best sellers too.

It's going to be half a year when it reaches chapter 6, and that'll still most likely be a rehash chapter at best. That's not cool at all.

Doesn't mean shit. People just bought it to buy it, it doesn't necessarily mean they loved or liked it. It's like a video on YouTube getting 6m views but the video sucks lol. It's not like the quality of the video got the views - it was most likely click bait - therefore the same principle can be applied to naruto. People are just getting it simply because it's naruto it doesn't mean it is truly liked
