Read below for what I said, how you interpreted that to mean Boruto would finish her off after Sarada's genjutsu is beyond me.

Genjutsu should deal with her if it dealt with Konohamaru, other then that if Borat beats her somehow then we know it's nothing more than a shit show.

Sarada beating with genjutsu = legit and plausible(Konohamaru has set precident)

Actually, per Kakashi, he's been 'Chunin level' for quite some time now. Chunin-level ninja beating average Jounin isn't unheard of in the series. You take ranks way too seriously.

That was filler mate and even then Kalashi was referring to his ability to use multiple jutsu. After that elisode he pretty much got negged at every turn and plot armour would kick in. Btw Moegi isn't an average Jonin she's an elite Jonin and can use Mokuton.

Ranks aren't just awarded they're earnt and represent something(skill level and ability of the ninja).

then Anbu (Tobito), ​

and every character between that and the Kage (Hanzo), until even the Kage were used to show how powerful Madara was, and nothing more. In each of these instances, the characters hyped at the expense of a rank was later beaten, more or less, by characters of a lower stated rank (except maybe Tobito, but the actual rank of anbu is subjective anyway).

His ethics and morals aside, Boruto has easily shown higher capacity than many of the Chunin we have seen in the series. But I understand where you come from. If I had a personal, unreasonable hatred for some character, I wouldn't give him an ounce of credit either.

No Boruto hasn't shown anything at the level of real chunin ninja we've seen. And I'm not referring to the fodder ninja who hold no place except to show they're fodder. I'll admit Boruto does have a shit ton of ass pull, plot armour and bad writing assisting him which is the only way he matches superior opponents.

I never said they were fake the ranks are earned, however some characters serve the function of canon fodder and others do not. It's more no named ninja vs named ninja both have earned the rank however no names serve the function of sacrificial lamb.
