It would be best for you to read the understanding of this scene before making judgement on it alone because the scene doesn't really make sense without seeing the first half of the movie.

I wrote the explanation

Okay so the majority of us realize by now how lazy and unmotivated of a shinobi Boruto was, right? Here is where things get interesting. After meeting Sasuke, and getting pushed over the limit by his father messing up important moments for his family. He decided he would defeat his father so that he can look in their direction (Boruto thinks Naruto doesn't love them enough because of his mistakes).

That's when he meets Sasuke, Naruto's rival. He then gets all excited and blah blah.

When Sasuke told Boruto to make the Rasengan, this was the first time Boruto decided to take training seriously. Well the more literal term the movie makes is purely train. Sarada and Konohamaru make note that he doesn't like to train at all.

When Boruto mastered the Rasengan in a few days (took 3-4 days from memory), he was impressed with his efforts because this was the first time he made something with effort. A few scenes before Sasuke was comparing Boruto to Naruto (after meeting him for a few seconds), and Naruto denied that by saying if anything, Boruto was more like the 'old' Sasuke. He then took it back by saying "no, even then your clothes were more scratched up than his were". Implying that at least Sasuke worked hard to get to where he did, while Boruto was incredibly lazy despite being a talented boy.

So when Boruto made his Rasengan, Sasuke made a mental note to how his clothes started to become 'ragged' and 'dirty'.

The translation follows (from memory)

It’s pretty small, isn’t it.” - Sasuke
"“It really can’t be called much of a Rasengan, however…”

Before Boruto would listen to his words, he threw it in anger because he thought that Sasuke would be impressed with his efforts due to him actually putting hard work into something in a long time. He threw the Rasengan and ran away, it was at this time where he ran to Katasuke for guidance and the scientist began to lure him into the device.

Before that, Sarada came from the bushes (she was watching Boruto this whole time)

“Hn…you’re as severe as ever, huh, Papa…I’m just going to say one thing because I think you don’t know this about Boruto, ok - Sarada

“Boruto really isn’t the hard-working type! It’s a miracle he kept it up this long! You understand what I mean, right? Hey?! Listen to me a little-” - Sarada

“He really misunderstood. That usuratonkachi.” - Sasuke

“I never said he was no good. I thought I’d take him as a disciple, and yet…” - Sasuke

Basically what Sasuke noticed was that the Rasengan was special because Boruto applied an elemental nature to it, clearly you can see that it's wind. Though the movie doesn't explain the elemental nature.

Sasuke just says that he applied an elemental nature to it, but for some reason they didn't point out which one out of the three it was, despite it being incredibly obvious :lol

Enjoy.

It's weird that Boruto is more of a prodigy than one of the most prodigious Uchiha. But they say talent skips a generation and Minato was arguably was the most prodigious in the whole manga, evidenced by being part of a nobody clan and still being one of the strongest Kage there was.

Cool, do you have a picture of the Rasengan though? Because based on what I saw from the movie and the game, both his tiny Rasengan and his normal sized one had no element, and Sasuke doesn't say anything about an element in that text. The only thing special about it is that he throws it and it disappears.

Sasuke said that he applied an elemental nature to his Rasengan (during the dimensional battle to Naruto) after Boruto's Rasengan stopped Momoshiki. Though they didn't say which element it was, despite seeing wind around the Rasengan. We just know through Sasuke's word that he did it.

So to clarify, it does have an elemental nature in the Rasengan. It's just not specific. Though anyone with eyes should be able to tell.

Alright, which is why I asked for a screen, because based on what I saw it had no element so right now we are taking whichever fan explaining what happened's word for it. :lol

I don't see the point of this thread.. In the clip there's no way for us to tell that's Boruto is adding wind to that tiny ass resengan.

I don't think it matters if he's applying a wind nature to it or not. We just know he's applying an elemental nature to it from a later reference from the movie.

This has nothing to do with the Elemental Rasengan explanation, it's just a scene from the movie and the translation. So I'm trying to figure out what the point of this comment was? :lol

I'm talking about actually seeing the wind around the Rasengan. The only thing from memory that actually stated it's element was from the Novel. Though I didn't see the full translation as I don't understand the language like that. People who have seen the movie have nodded or shook their head to the element which I asked. I just know personally what was stated by the Sauce.

I could post close up screen shots, though I'm not sure if it matters? For fan theories we can say either; Wind, Water, or Lightning.

But I'm just using common sense because each time he used the Rasengan (in the movie), there was wind around it.

Outside of what-ever the Novel says.

Here's Boruto making the regular Rasengan

Here's Boruto making the 'Vanishing Rasengan'

This version however, Boruto used the device to make it bigger after Sasuke called it small (I explained it above). But I'm sure you understand why the majority came to the conclusion that it was actually wind, instead of it being water or lightning when said he applied an elemental nature to it. Cause I don't know what else to say :lol

I just figured the nature of the Rasengan was obvious due to how it looked. Though to be fair it's probably because I've seen it a few times haha.

The point is you go into this long explanation trying to explain a scene you didn't even show lol.

Also we can't tell that he added any elemental nature to the resengan, yet alone wind, but you're stressing the point that we all should be able to tell when there's nothing to tell from.

There's no wind around thst resengan ..

Yea that's what I wanted to see, The top image is what I saw already which is clearly a normal Rasengan.

In the bottom 2 pics however the Rasengan does seem to have some wind around it though its no where near a fuuton rasenshuriken xd. It's still cool and he did it at a very young age in no time. He used the device though so let's hope that's not the reason it had the element.

>I don't really care for your denial. Sasuke said he did, and since you kiss the ground he walks upon you might as well too. I see wind around it so I made the conclusion, Endless saw it as well when I brought the screen shots so I must not be crazy. Right?

Yeah. Boruto seems to be the kind of guy to reach a step and not follow through with it, because he achieved it... he wouldn't progress. In simple terms, he may have put wind into the Rasengan... though it probably wasn't enough to be incredibly powerful. Not to mention the Rasengan itself was tiny as hell.

Well the only reason why he's Rasengan was capable of Vanishing, was because he had placed an elemental nature in it via Sasuke. The first time he used it, the tinier version (I guess you can't see the wind in your perspective?), disappeared after he threw it. Mind us he didn't have contact with the device at all.

After he failed to impress Sasuke and he ran off, he asked Katasuke for a scroll to make the Rasengan larger in size (I guess Konohamaru's scroll?). Before the final battle he threw the device on the floor and he joined Sasuke and the Kage's to bring down Momoshiki and save Naruto. And this time Sasuke explained the background of the Rasengan's ability and why it does, what it does (outside of what element was put into it).

Both scenario's don't have any contact with the device.

Endless saw it after you added a completely different clip..

And maybe if you want us to believe what Sasuke said, then try showing us that clip instead of explaining a clip, you don't have.

Well figuratively speaking, you can see wind around it. Or at least you can with HD and not taken from a cam rip.

Anyway I knew this would come up eventually so I was prepared in advanced. When the cam rip leak came out I asked my friend to translate what Sasuke said, but she was busy translating the Boruto: Movie Novel and she said so in her message back to me.

Not sure where the exact footage is anymore because I asked this a LONG TIME ago. Though I did get a good gif out of it, so you can find the scene and ask a Japanese speaker to translate what is being said yourself. Friend made the gif version of the scene:

I see, well in hindsight the pea-sized one might have had it, it's quite subtle and something you could mistake for normal wind movement due to Rasengan's rotation if it wasn't pointed out to you.

But you can't really ask for much given his age and amount of time, anything more would have been an asspull.

Anyways, good stuff, we practically got the whole movie already.

You know what's funny? Everyone I asked thought the same :lol

I asked someone who was giving out spoilers during the whole information about Boruto cheating and stuff, and it didn't make sense with the whole Prodigy notion. She said that someone wrote about him may have putting Lightning into the Rasengan (mind us she told me this like months ago, when we were just getting information from the spoilers with OD). Though when we started getting screen shots of Boruto using the Rasengan in-front of Sasuke I immediately realized that definitely was not Lightning but looked like wind ... but I kept it to myself. I later asked Kid on what he thought about it, and he said "Nah" (he also thought the same as you). . At this time I didn't know he could use two other elemental natures so I was like... Kishimoto why make an advertisement with him and Lightning in the first place? God damn liar!

Though when looking at it clearly, compare it with the gifs of the Rasengan with the chakra 'wind'. It's blue, but in the Movie you can see that it looks foamy. Especially when Boruto throws it.

Yea the second one is quite obvious, it's no where near Naruto's level but it's there, befitting of his beginner child, much like Sarada's super strength in comparison to Sakura's and her 1T Sharingan compared to Sasuke's EMS/Rinnegan.

They are better than their parents at their age, but I am glad they are being realistic about it.

That's kind of why I said we just gotta use common sense on what we see here. Cause in the Movie, there is no specified element in there. We just know he put it in... but I don't see why they wouldn't just tell us.

I mean after you saw a few crappy gifs you realized exactly what it was, right XD?

It makes me kind of sad we won't see them again.
