Why you should see this Movie: Because it's the best Naruto Movie ever made, bar none. I guess you could argue about the classics, but most of the movies themselves were about Naruto saving some Princess. The last Canon movie only really spoke to people who shipped Naruto and Hinata, but this movie is generally for 'everyone' who loves Naruto.
My general experience in the Movie theater was quite interesting. The Movie started off with Sasuke vs. Kinshiki, and the whole crowd was in uproar. I ever heard someone say "C'mon Sasuke, beat his ass for me!!!", though it sounds nice on paper, being in a room with Naruto fan's like myself was weird. Some of you guys are loud when your favorites come on screen!
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience watching this movie though. I'm sure watching it at home compared to the theater isn't that much of a leap, though I usually go for the entertainment feature of the film. I can say for certain that interpretations of certain characters will be washed away after the Movie.
Enough banter though. Enjoy the Review.
Introduction
I think for now, I'll skip this unless people want a detailed explanation on the fight. Though this scene was leaked already, and honestly there was a few seconds we haven't seen in the beginning that was shown in the trailers. However, I don't feel like it would be wise for me to spoil every single detail of every single thing. I may do this for certain people who won't have a chance to see the movie until it hits their Country, or when it releases online.
Just for your information, Sasuke doesn't look that bad against Kinshiki as the Video portrays. There are some good scenes we haven't seen from their fight in the beginning. It was pretty much a stalemate until Kinshiki started going in really hard.

Movie - The Change
The scene cuts to the Uzumaki household were we see the entire family getting ready to celebrate the birthday of Himawari Uzumaki, to Boruto's surprise Naruto was actually there on time. They all began to sing happy birthday to Himawari, and she flashed a really adorable smile. Naruto was coming around with the cake and just as the song was about to end, Naruto's clone burst.

Now a little backstory on Naruto and his Hokage job. Throughout the movie Naruto is seen doing 'odd jobs', while also running the village behind the desk. You would have Naruto; Testing out flying machines, helping old ladies move faster in the Village, studying in the library (what he is reading I have no idea), there was one even trying to sleep because he was so drained, and the list goes on and on. Naruto hasn't been the Hokage for a days, or weeks. He's been the Hokage for years now, and we are expected to believe that he performs these kinds of duties on the daily basis. We don't even know if he has a proper sleep schedule, but the animators made note to show how tired Naruto was through his design (which was animated horribly I must say). Dark circles, big eyes, and green skin. Definitely wasn't screaming "I'm healthy and not tired!"

The second that the cake dropped, you could see Himawari's smile slowly turning into a frown. And Boruto witnessed it all which had flipped his switch. If you didn't notice before, he is a family man. In fact I would say that's the only thing he cares about truly, his only passion outside of his love for technology.
He started to move in anger and Hinata quickly went to his side and tried to grab his arm, but Boruto tried to stop her. Hinata went on to say that Naruto is incredibly busy, that he is doing his best for not just them, but for everyone who lives in the Village. She also said that Naruto absolutely had no intention of neglecting them.
Boruto was clearly not listening, he was too angry for his mother's words to get through to him. However she kept trying. She told him how the existence of the Hokage was the most vital for the Village, and Boruto began to retort.
He said something on the lines of 'Grandpa was a Hokage too, wasn't he? But Grandpa left the world before Naruto understood this terrible father and son relationship that awaited him'
Hinata understood his pain, she too felt his suffering, they all did I assume. How could they not when Naruto not only overworked himself to death, but also drained himself from spending time with the people that waited him for at the end of the day? Thankfully, she didn't let his words slide. She told Boruto that he has his father here, right now. Something that Naruto didn't have the luxury of having while growing up.
That's when he had calmed down, or at least enough for him to walk away silently. The last time we see Himawari she is being held by her mother in a really tight hug.

Boruto goes to Naruto's office (at home) and finds his Part 1 jacket that Himawari found in the early parts of the movie while she was helping her mother with folding. He stated that it looked rather stupid and he threw it out of the window. After that Boruto hears the doorbell ring and he thinks that it is Naruto, so he runs hoping to see his father apologize for what he has done ... but at the same time he gets ready to land a hit on him. When he opens the dor it turns out that it was Sasuke Uchiha.
Hinata and Sasuke have their first interaction with each other from what I've seen, and Boruto watches him silently as he figures out that he is Naruto's rival. When he leaves Boruto's eyes shine brightly and he says that Sasuke is "So cool" -- The knowledge is stemming from the fact that Sasuke is his father's best friend and rival, and because of that he must be someone special, or admirable.
While Sasuke was on his way to the Hokage's office he picked up Naruto's jacket which Boruto threw out of the window, and he went on his way.

When Sasuke reached the Hokage's Office, Naruto looked exhausted (after his clone disappeared we saw his reaction with Shikamaru and it was unpleasant). He threw him the scroll that he found hoping that Naruto knew of some way to decode its secrets, and luckily Naruto had a program for such situations. There was Unit in Konohagakure (thanks to Naruto) which could decrypt the scroll over time, and after talking about the scroll and his mission, they began to talk about Boruto.
He tells Naruto that he ran into his son, saying they’re very alike. Naruto denies this, saying if anything Boruto is more like Sasuke. Sasuke looks surprised at this, but then Naruto takes it back. He looks sorrowfully at his beat-up jacket, saying “no, even your clothes were more wrecked than his are.”
…This doesn’t make sense out of the context of the movie. Basically, one of the themes deals with the struggle of what part technology plays in a ninja world, and what part ninjutsu plays in a technologically progressing world. It’s the whole ‘old vs new’ struggle that comes with modernization. For example, kids are playing video games instead of training. This debate is highlighted by the new armgear technology that plays an important part in the movie. Naruto bans the use of this gear in the chunin exams at the beginning of the movie, saying that a true ninja needs to discover what it means to be a shinobi through hard work and sweat, not taking shortcuts using technology. Naruto and Sasuke even cast a ‘bet’ on what ‘being a ninja’ means in the modern times, with Naruto thinking the fundamentals of being a ninja are changing, and Sasuke thinking they’re the same as in their childhood.
Going back to the scene in question where Naruto and Sasuke are talking, Naruto is referring to the fact that Boruto is a genius like Sasuke (and unlike himself). However, the reason he takes it back is because unlike Sasuke, Boruto is lazy and doesn’t try hard or train (Konohamaru and Sarada also say this in other scenes). This is what he means by saying ‘unlike you (Sasuke), his clothes aren’t tattered’. If you reword it, he acknowledges the fact that even though Sasuke is naturally gifted, he always put the effort in to get to where he is today.
It seems from my interpretation that Kishimoto wanted to establish that Boruto is like Naruto, and Sasuke, but he is also himself and unique. You would have Naruto saying "He reminds me of the old you if anything", Sasuke saying "He turned out a lot like you", and then Naruto adjusting his wording by saying "No, even then his clothes aren't as tattered as yours are." Though this is my understanding from watching the Movie.

After Sasuke left the Hokage's Office we see him walking through a dimmed light street, and then Boruto came out of a transformation jutsu and tried to attack Sasuke. Long story short, Sasuke was not capable of being tricked and he stopped Boruto by sliding his leg over his, which made him fall to the ground. Boruto began to stand up while wiping the dirt from his clothes (reference above - Clothes/Clean), and requested that Sasuke was a shinobi that he could teach him, he began to entreat him for an apprenticeship. Saying that he wanted his help to defeat his father, which Sasuke responded with, "If you can make the Rasengan."
Movie - Training
After Sasuke said that he may take him on as a student, Boruto rushed to Konohamaru's house so that he can learn the Rasengan. It was probably one of the cutest moments in the film because:
Konohamaru was enthusiastically excited about teaching Boruto, who never wanted to train.
&
He was passing on the legacy of the Fourth Hokage to his Grandson. Just like Naruto did to him.

The Rasengan training was probably one of the most challenging aspects for Boruto to complete in comparison to the Ninjutsu abilities he learns without training. For one, the Rasengan is a multi step process, it isn't something you can learn by just watching (outside of copying abilities from Dojutsu). Which means Boruto had to sit down and learn each step before making the Rasengan itself. I'm cutting down the scene itself because I think moments like these are better to watch yourself.
I will say that Boruto and Konohamaru's interactions are hilarious. He learned the Rasengan in less than a week, a few days actually. In comparison to his father whom mastered it down in a month.

So after Boruto mastered the Rasengan, he goes to show Sasuke his hard work. The first thing that Sasuke notes is that Boruto's clothes have become quite dirty from the last time he saw him, indicating that he had put work in for this. When Boruto had created the Rasengan, Sasuke made a comment that had indirectly hurt Boruto's pride, "It looks far too small."
Boruto starts to doubt himself in that moment and then threw the Rasengan. Afterwards it disappeared and Boruto looked completely defeated. He started to run away from Sasuke all together and Sarada (who had been secretly watching Boruto train for the past few days) started to talk to her father about Boruto. Saying that it was a miracle he kept up for so long because Boruto isn't one to train. While she continued Sasuke heard a noise and saw that the tree behind him was was dented, and Sasuke replied to Sarada while she was still going on about Boruto, "I never said he was no good. I thought I’d take him as a disciple, and yet.." Sarada's faces breaks into a smile and then she goes off to find Boruto to tell him the good news, and then the scene ends with Sasuke looking at the tree once again. I forgot to mention that he said he was impressive.
The scene follows Boruto, and this time he is with Katasuke. Boruto begins to tell Katasuke that he had put days of effort into learning the Rasengan, from his perspective of one who did not train, when he finally put effort in he expected that Sasuke would be extremely impressed with his efforts, or at least a little bit. Katasuke was doing nothing but comforting the boy while showing him around the science lab. The scientist began to explain to Boruto that there was a way for him to bypass hard work easily, and that's when he started to lure the boy into the device.
A day or two later Boruto started to show Sasuke the fruits of his efforts and he created a normal sized Rasengan with the help of the device. I think for a moment Sasuke knew something was up, but he saw Naruto in the boy for a moment and he decided against it. It was at that time the training began.
I'm going to cut out the scenes like Konohamaru's training regime for the soul reason that these are important moments a fan might like to enjoy due to not much spoilers about it. Though I can confirm that Sasuke taught him advanced ways to throw the Shuriken which resembles Itachi's style.
There was actually a great conversation between the two when Boruto was failing to hit the target right, and he complained that 'Sarada the heir to the Uchiha line could do this easily since she is Sasuke's daughter', to which Sasuke replies with his logic saying that since Boruto is Naruto's son, he could make tons of shadow clones, right? Boruto is left a little speechless by that, and Sasuke continues to talk to him.
They really work well together, and that's all I'm spoiling when it comes to their training interactions, sorry.
Movie - Chunin Exams
Like the spoilers above, I'm really not keen on spoiling anything here when it comes to actual fights. Though I'll drop some information for Boruto's character because that's mainly what I'm talking about (and the others):
No one actually defeats their opponents quickly like in the trailers, most of the fights are montages of other fights that are happening at the same time. So you would see a fight start, then see another fight, and then you would come back and a winner would be announced. So the Chunin Exams was relatively quick.
Their first match included a Mist team which setup a Genjutsu trap, and decided to go full on the offensive and attack Boruto's team flag. Mitsuki and Sarada went together to defeat them, but they didn't know that the other team had already left to steal their flags. So Boruto was left with to deal with the entire team by himself.
He had created shadow clones to match them, but they also knew the shadow clone technique. So it ended up being 3/4 vs 9 (three brothers who used the KB to make 9 copies of themselves). The fight wasn't really clear, it ended with the three brothers left standing and the clones on both sides being defeated and with Boruto on the ground. So clearly they overpowered him, but he also took out their numbers otherwise they would still have their army raised.
They started to run to the flag and if they grabbed it, Team Konohamaru would have lost. It was at this moment Boruto's character began to have a certain conflict about the device itself. But he decided against it and defeated the three brothers with a combination technique of Raiton and Suiton.
Mitsuki was coming back to help Boruto as he feared for the worst when he heard him yell, and Sarada reached the enemies flag and disabled the Genjutsu by seeing through it with her Sharingan.

After the match was over, when Boruto returned home he looked at the device. You could tell he was ashamed about this, by using the device, by cheating while his teammates worked hard using their own power. He heard a knock on the door and Naruto rushed in to congratulate him on passing the second part of the Exams. There was actually a long awkward pause before Naruto came to give him a 'fist bump' and Boruto stood there looking at him. It was because if he had returned the fist bump, Naruto would see the device hidden under his sleeve. So he decided not to.
Naruto put the fist to his chest and smiled before walking away, and when he left Boruto started to show his true emotions (he's a big ol' tsundere with his feelings, cold at first and distant until he later opens up. You'll see what I mean). He started to cry and he touched his chest, he was thankful for the first time in a long time Naruto had looked in his direction. It was all because of the device ... and after that moment the struggle between Boruto and the device seemed to have died down.

The remaining fights consisted of everyone winning, bar Chou Chou. Boruto defeated his next opponent by using a cheat shuriken to curve and hit them in the face (despite knowing how to do this already via Sasuke, he picked the easy way out).
We've already seen his fight with Shikidai but I wanted to touch on the scene a little bit.

After Naruto left Boruto's room, he told him not to lose against Shikidai, and at the same time it was one of the few moments were Naruto seemed proud of him (to Boruto), and genuinely looked in his direction. So he was under a large amount of stress for the fight against Shikidai. Since most of us has seen the footage, Shikidai captures him in an expanding shadow technique, and Boruto was immbolized. He then dropped a few scrolls from his hands and shadow clones released.
What I found interesting was that Shikidai's shadow technique didn't really "die", it just seemed that Shikidai figured that he could only hold out for so long. Which questioned how powerful that technique really was, and how anyone can break that bar common sense, I'm mainly thinking about who could break it in their generation and how.
When Shikidai gave up, the crowd roared into chaos and as expected of Naruto's son, the comments about the fight where not that surprising. However, Naruto noticed something odd about the situation and he left his seat a few seconds before and asked his wife to use her Byakugan to check something.
Naruto was seen jumping down from the stands and he approached Boruto. Boruto probably had the biggest smile on his face because he thought his father came down to congratulate him like the day before, and honestly this scene was most heartbreaking in the entire movie. The way the music played, and the timing was just horrible (in a good way). He took out his fist ready to put it against his own father's, and while it looked like Naruto was going to reciprocate it, he then grabbed Boruto's jacket instead.
Boruto immediately started to look away from his eyes, and Naruto began to say that he already told him the gauntlet wasn't approved for the Chunin Exams (yeah Naruto, because children always listen to their parents lmao).
Naruto told Rock Lee (the proctor) to announce that Shikidai was the winner of the match, and that Boruto was disqualified. The whole time Boruto had not looked at his father but kept staring at the ground in shame. He was doing this all for him, from the beginning. He didn't want to join the Chunin Exams, but he did so because he knew his father would watch him. He didn't want to cheat while his team mates proved victory on their own, but with his father watching his eyes the stress had pushed him to the limit.
Everyone from the stands, more importantly people that knew Boruto had a worried look of expression. Namely Sarada who looked in his direction with a face filled with sorrow while she said his name silently. Naruto then proceeded to remove the headband from his head. From the stands Himawari said that she was worried for Boruto, and then we see Hinata hugging her tightly again while she looked down at Naruto and Boruto with the same look Sarada had.
Naruto touched Boruto's shoulder while he still had his head in shame, and he said, “Let’s go…we’re in the middle of the exams now…there’ll be a lecture later!”
This moment was incredibly straining to watch because you could feel the emotions there, the scene was amazing. When Naruto told Boruto that he would lecture him later, he broke.
Boruto then said, “A lecture…later? From you, dad?! Will you really have the time to do that?! If you’d properly lectured me before then…now, things wouldn’t have turned out like this!!”
He knew it wasn't his father's fault for his own wrongdoings, but he couldn't help the anger that he felt towards him, because mainly this whole thing was for him. While this was happening, you could see Katasuke angry at this situation and he began to force his way down. When he reached Naruto and Boruto, both of them looked really angry at him, and he tried to focus the camera his way to promote the device. From the beginning he used Boruto's relationship with his father to trick him into using the machine, and then he tried to market it at the very last second. It directly reminded me of the relationship between Mizuki and Naruto.
A few seconds afterwards Momoshiki and Kinshiki arrived to take down Naruto, Momo had sensed his chakra after defeating Killer Bee (who does survive by the way using the same trick he used to fool Sasuke). Though I'm skipping this scene.
Movie - Change
The transition of the scene is self explanatory through the gif. Naruto tells Sasuke to look after them, Sasuke agrees and then Naruto prepares to stop Momoshiki unleashing his attack on the Stadium.
He turns around for a moment before he smiles at his son, and then he stopped the attack but in the process had lost the Avatar. This would probably be due to how powerful the technique was, when Naruto and Sasuke were protecting Boruto/Sarada (the Kurama head infused with Susano'o) was being teared apart with pure lightning from Momoshiki. So one can only assume how powerful the technique really was if it was capable of destroying the Kyuubi Avatar, or at least in my opinion it did. Though what Naruto did to stop it was: He sent clones outwards and they each pumped out a large tail that formed around his Avatar. So when the Bijuudama reached them, he held it in both hands while he wrapped the tails around the Bijuudama so that it could take in the explosion.
Boruto screams "tou-chan" for the first time, which means father. And then he blacks out immediately.
He wakes up hearing crying sounds from his sister, Himawari. She's by Hinata's bed and Sakura is there healing her. One could assume she's either crying for her mother being unconscious or because Naruto had died (I'm not sure if this news was widespread though). Boruto went to his mother's side and asked if she was okay, and Sakura responded that Hinata went to go save Naruto after he sacrificed himself. So it's not really clear what she did. It implies that she tried to stop Momoshiki and Kinshiki from taking Naruto, though clearly she lost. It's best not to over think this scene. She just tried to save her husband as any rational woman would if she saw that he was going to die, and in the process the opponents were too powerful and they got away, and she got knocked out.
Boruto knew that his father was gone, I forgot how honestly. I think Sarada came to talk to him about how Naruto gave his life for them, and that they couldn't protect him. Either way when he confirmed that Naruto was dead, Boruto just instinctively ran to the one place his father stayed at the most, the Hokage office. I forgot to note that between this scene, Boruto took off the Kote device and threw it on the floor. Sasuke was standing a few feet away and he smiled at Boruto before he continued to run.
When Boruto reached the Hokage Office, he began to reminisce on everything he said before. All the words that reached him, and what he said which were hurtful. You could hear Sasuke, Hinata, and Boruto's voices (Sasuke's speeches about Naruto which I didn't share, Hinata's speech about Naruto which I spoiled above, and the arguments between Boruto/Naruto). Everything that he said about his father, you could tell that he repented it.
He slowly picked up Naruto's jacket and he started to put it on (this scene had a lot of people in tears, mainly the stupid female next to me who has been asking for the backhand). He looked in the mirror and said, "This is a stupid outfit..." and then Sasuke came in right afterwards agreeing.
This scene was really important to me because it showed how great of a Shishou Sasuke was, but also a friend. Remember when I said that the principle of the story is about 'Father and Son', but also the relationship of 'Student and Master' is also at the pinnacle?
Sasuke told Boruto that he earned everyone's dislike in the exam, he was removed of his hitai-ate, he told him that he wasn't even a shinobi. On top of that his little sister was crying, and his mother got hurt, and he lost his father.
If he didn't have his little sister, or his mother right now, he would be the same as Naruto.
Sasuke continued and said, "What will you do now?"
Boruto looked at him and said "How did tou-chan do it? What did he do to crawl from a situation as awful as this?"
Sasuke smiled again, "You don't want to know about his weak points now, huh... then you can hear it from him later. He's still alive, I can sense his chakra."
Boruto then asked why Sasuke even bothered with someone like him all this time.
(What I find really funny is that Naruto usually had a lot of nicknames for people in the series; Pervy Sensei, Granny Tsunade, etc., but with Boruto he usually called people with their appropriate name, unless it was his father who he referred to as 'shitty dad' and Sasuke who he calls his Uncle. What I found out was that Sasuke and Boruto are crafted after Piccolo and Gohan, and Gohan calls Piccolo his Uncle. Nice reference to DBZ Kishimoto.)
Sasuke told Boruto that he is a really strong shinobi, he told him that he will become a man who will surpass him.
Boruto questioned him, "How can you even say something like that?!"
Sasuke replied with “You’re his son, and furthermore by best disciple, aren’t you? And most importantly …”
“You’re even more of an usuratonkachi than Naruto was.”
This moment the whole theater went into a uproar :lol -- Can't lie that I was trying to hold back the feels.
“…by usuratonkachi…you mean…?” Boruto asked.
“Someone who hates to lose," Sasuke said.
It was around this time that the Gokage entered and were ready to follow Sasuke, and Boruto, to save Naruto. I believe it was Gaara who thought that Boruto in Naruto's jacket would also be as powerful, but Sasuke said "As he is, he is not ready yet." Which honestly is true... I mean not even Part 1 Naruto could help out with an Otsutsuki battle like this, but I'm just going to trust Sasuke's words on this.
He handed Boruto his scratched headband, and I think at this moment is where Boruto truly realized what type of man he wanted to be. It was almost as if Sasuke was passing down his will to Boruto, in that essence. I was even reminded of Chapter 699 when Sasuke continued to lecture Boruto.
"Children will makes mistakes." -- "Naruto and I, we made mistakes in the past."
"We were scolded, forgiven, and lead back on the right path The one's who stayed by our side were our friends. There wil never be such a thing as a kid who doesn't make mistakes."
Boruto took his headband and the scene was iconic. People were clapping and yelling at Boruto to put it on.
Hinata came with Sakura a few moments after Sasuke created his S/T portal. She was trying to stop Boruto, because she knew he was going to risk his life. Though before she could get a word out she, and everyone else saw the young Naruto in Boruto when he put on Sasuke's headband. Boruto smiled at her and said that he would rescue Naruto. Sasuke, Sakura, the Gokage's, and Hinata all had a weird smile on before he jumped into the fray due to seeing a man they respected in his child

Movie - Beginning
I just realized that I didn't explain something important about Sasuke vs. Kinshiki, the purpose of his mission. While searching through a Dimension, namely one with Kaguya's castle, Sasuke found a scroll that he wasn't capable of decrypting with the Rinnegan. After finding it, that's when Momoshiki and Kinshiki appeared.

The intro scenes ends and we see a three man cell comprised of the protagonist of the movie; Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, Mitsuki, and the Team Leader Konohamaru Sarutobi. It seems as if they are doing a mission to take down a panda colored bear, which seems to be the area of discussion between both Boruto and Sarada who argue about which one it is (it's reminiscent of Naruto and Sakura bickering at each other but at a more friendly scale).
They finally see the Panda bear, and well... the 'team' isn't really much of a team. Boruto created shadow clones after Mitsuki stopped the bear in place with his stretching arm abilities, one of them stopped Sarada before she could hurt the bear (the objective of the mission was not to hurt it but to capture it, so her superhuman strength didn't play a factor in stopping it, which is my assumption on why Boruto stopped her too outside of not respecting his teammates). The intro scenes ends and we see a three man cell comprised of the protagonist of the movie; Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, Mitsuki, and the Team Leader Konohamaru Sarutobi. It seems as if they are doing a mission to take down a panda colored bear, which seems to be the area of discussion between both Boruto and Sarada who argue about which one it is (it's reminiscent of Naruto and Sakura bickering at each other but at a more friendly scale).
They finally see the Panda bear, and well... the 'team' isn't really much of a team. Boruto created shadow clones after Mitsuki stopped the bear in place with his stretching arm abilities, one of them stopped Sarada before she could hurt the bear (the objective of the mission was not to hurt it but to capture it, so her superhuman strength didn't play a factor in stopping it, which is my assumption on why Boruto stopped her too outside of not respecting his teammates). Movie - Naruto & Boruto
After Konohamaru destroyed a house via Rasengan, the scene cuts to the Leaf Village ... which has exponentially grew. We see scenes of the new Village which contained a variety of new developments; Children playing handheld video games, TV stations (Giant plasma screens everywhere!), and then we see areas of the Village comprised of skyscrapers in the background which looks like a different place entirely.
We later see Naruto's shadow clones picking out presents and buying different types of food in a supermarket (Choji and Chou Chou make their first appearance in the movie, they are seen looking quite angry at Naruto for buying a lot of food). My assumption is that these are for his daughter's birthday which is coming up.
It then shows yet ANOTHER Naruto being interviewed on TV where he gives a speech about the three most important factors for a shinobi. "‘There are three important things! Teamwork, and willpower…" Naruto then looked around and casually dropped a smile and when the interviewer asked "But isn't that only two things?", after the interview was over the shadow clone disappears and then the scene cuts to the real Hokage Naruto who is hard at work in the Office.
We then see Team Konohamaru entering, Naruto was clearly ticked off. Though interestingly Boruto didn't really treat him badly for it either. He was the Hokage's son after-all, but he was still a shinobi of the Leaf Village. The understanding of this was while Boruto may be his son, he wouldn't treat him any differently to the shinobi next to him. And Boruto seemed to have understood this well because he didn't complain about being treated like this (until a conversation about Naruto wanting him to be referred to Hokage while at work which irked Boruto).
The real reason behind Naruto's anger was their display of handling the Panda mission, even costing Konohagakure funds because they had to compensate for the house a family lost due to Konohamaru's actions.
Boruto then began to behave like he did in the early part of the movie, all smug and cocky, and pretending like Sarada/Mitsuki don't exist (remind you of someone?). "It was a very simple mission, I could've pulled off something like this by myself." He would say and then Naruto retorted that "Teamwork and will-power are preicous things for a shinobi, cooperating as a team in training is essential!!"
You could see that both Naruto and Boruto had different ideals, and with that entered a deadlock. Boruto brushed off his words by finishing off with, "Even if I don't do any training, I can already make the Shadow Bunshin, Wind Release, Lightning Release, and lately I learned Suiton release too!"
So we begin to have a backstory on why Boruto is so cocky in his own abilities. He can pretty much do anything, and he believes so. Though it has a bigger understanding than this. It was something that Mitsuki said in the beginning of the Movie when Team Konohamaru were taking down the Panda. When Boruto skillfully attacked its vitals, Mitsuki spoke and said "As expected of the Seventh Hokage's son, and the Fourth's grandson... I wonder if Boruto will become Hokage one day as well?" which seemed to have touched Sarada the wrong way, but even she understood he wasn't wrong. Though Boruto only ignored him. You see Boruto is growing up with the passive ideals that he is a talented shinobi, and his surroundings expect big things from him (this was also stated in his Movie DB page). But the conscious thought going around is that Boruto's abilities are expected due to him being the Son of the Hero, and the Grandson of the Hokage.
Which to me personally is what makes Boruto an interesting and realistic character in his proportions. Though he himself does not stride with this personally. He does not go around stating that he can do what-ever he wants because he is the Son of Naruto, nor does he brag about this. In fact I would go as far as saying he is a polite, well mannered kid when it doesn't come to conflicts between him and his father.

It's then we begin to see a difference between the Boruto in Chapter 700 who was starving for his father's attention, restoring to pranks to capture him. Instead we see Boruto defending his family, and claiming that if Naruto doesn't arrive for his sister on her special day, he would never forgive him. Boruto left after that with Naruto sliding into his chair looking frustrated at what to do, and Konohamaru looked like he was going to chase after Boruto but decided not to.

After Boruto leaves the Office, we are introduced to a new character called Katasuke. He seems to be a Jounin ranked shinobi who specializes in scientist area of the Ninja World. He had come to meet with with Naruto as the leader of the Scientific Ninja Tool Division. He wanted to ask permission for the Kote device tool to be used in the year's Chunin Exams.
Naruto simply replied with,“It won’t do.” When Katasuke asked why that wouldn't work Naruto began to explain that the Chunin Exams aren't just a performance, they are for raising shinobi. He acknowledged that the tool could be useful, but if they used something like this in the Chunin Exams, there really isn't an examination of shinobi and their true abilities.
Which makes sense. Thinking back to the original Chunin Exams in the beginning, it wasn't just the strongest who defeated all the opponents in their wake. It was the quality of the shinobi who was capable of having the ability to carry out mission successfully under pressure. Which is why out of everyone who failed, Shikamaru passed due to his cognitive analysis against Temari and good use of judgement.
After the scene with Naruto and Katasuke, it cuts off to a different portion of the Movie once again following Boruto.
Katasuke confronted the boy, but it seemed like they already had a mutual friendship before this whole ordeal. Back when Konohamaru was showing off the device, while the team all looked generally interested in the device, it was Boruto who had a certain gleam in his eye for them (it showed that he loved technology). It was showing that he also was accustomed to the general change of the world he grew up in, with the changes that Naruto's era lacked when it came to technology.
Katasuke then handed out Boruto game data for a popular video game that all the children played nowadays. Boruto thanked him, and Katasuke began to question Boruto on the Chunin Exams.
"Will you be entering the Chunin Exams, 'young master'?"
Which replied with a sour face, he wouldn't. It seemed as if he had no interest in becoming anything after a Genin, in fact he didn't seem interested in being a shinobi at all. It was mainly due to him not understanding the reasoning of being one due to the circumstances in his life, which I talked about before. Katasuke told Boruto that was shame he wasn't entering while flashing a smile in his direction. He began to talk about Naruto and how the Hokage would have liked everyone to see his true abilities. Which Boruto replied, "Does the Hokage watch the Exams?", and Katasuke responded with "he does."
You could begin to see that Katasuke himself was beginning to use Boruto for something mischievous.

The scene changes into a barren-purple like world, and we see the Eight Tail's bound against a tree with Momoshiki floating above him. It's the second time he makes an appearance, and the villain explains that he will take his power and kill him. He begins to absorb the Beast's chakra and converting them into red pills which he eats, and while this is happening the Hachibi lets out a Bijuudama from his mouth. However, Momoshiki absorbed the blast within a seconds and fires it back at him causing the pair to be defeated. Momoshiki then picked up Killer Bee and dropped him into the water..

While the three were playing the video games, Boruto looked up and he could see Mitsuki and Sarada hovering in-front of him. They began to question him on the Chunin Exams, and like before Boruto started to say he didn't want to participate in the Exams at all. It was explained that three man cells are the standard for those who wish to join the Chunin Selection Exams, and if they didn't have Boruto they couldn't enter. Boruto scoffed at the idea and said "As if I would care", and at that moment Sarada grabbed his collar, lifting him slightly up. She then told Boruto that becoming Hokage was her dream, and he was getting in the way of it by not wanting to join the Exams. It seemed though that word 'Hokage' itself was a bad subject with him. He then threw her hand off of his collar. It seemed to be out of pure anger for the position itself, and it could have been a combination of looking after her too. But the response was, "If you want to be Hokage you better stay alone your whole life, because it will cause a lot of problems for your family!"
Sarada seemed to have fallen silent after those words, from my understanding she realized why Boruto was so angry. Afterwards Shikidai and Inojin wanted to continue to play, but Boruto said he was going, so he gave them his game data so that they could continue without him.
It was around this time that they realized Boruto had taken the easy way out, like always, and cheated his way through leveling up. His friends seemed pretty angry about his display of not working hard when they spent hours trying to reach their current levels, but Boruto himself did not understand the significance of it.
It was then we were introduced to the idea that Boruto, while being talented, took short cuts and the easy way out. Despite having the talent to do things, it also shaped him in a different way unlike his father (and mother) who were shinobi that worked hard for their results, despite being untalented and weak.
When Sarada caught up to Boruto, he began to reconsider the Chunin Exam ordeal all together. She told Boruto that they would show their amazing aspects to 'Lord Seventh', and something about his face changed a bit. He knew that his father would see him, and the conversation turned to a lighter tune. It was decided that Team Konohamaru would definitely participate in the Exams together.
A few seconds later we are introduced to Himawari and Hinata Uzumaki, and the first time so far in the Movie Boruto flashed a genuine smile when his sister called out for him. The scene cuts to the Uzumaki household were we see the entire family getting ready to celebrate the birthday of Himawari Uzumaki, to Boruto's surprise Naruto was actually there on time. They all began to sing happy birthday to Himawari, and she flashed a really adorable smile. Naruto was coming around with the cake and just as the song was about to end, Naruto's clone burst.

Now a little backstory on Naruto and his Hokage job. Throughout the movie Naruto is seen doing 'odd jobs', while also running the village behind the desk. You would have Naruto; Testing out flying machines, helping old ladies move faster in the Village, studying in the library (what he is reading I have no idea), there was one even trying to sleep because he was so drained, and the list goes on and on. Naruto hasn't been the Hokage for a days, or weeks. He's been the Hokage for years now, and we are expected to believe that he performs these kinds of duties on the daily basis. We don't even know if he has a proper sleep schedule, but the animators made note to show how tired Naruto was through his design (which was animated horribly I must say). Dark circles, big eyes, and green skin. Definitely wasn't screaming "I'm healthy and not tired!"

The second that the cake dropped, you could see Himawari's smile slowly turning into a frown. And Boruto witnessed it all which had flipped his switch. If you didn't notice before, he is a family man. In fact I would say that's the only thing he cares about truly, his only passion outside of his love for technology.
He started to move in anger and Hinata quickly went to his side and tried to grab his arm, but Boruto tried to stop her. Hinata went on to say that Naruto is incredibly busy, that he is doing his best for not just them, but for everyone who lives in the Village. She also said that Naruto absolutely had no intention of neglecting them.
Boruto was clearly not listening, he was too angry for his mother's words to get through to him. However she kept trying. She told him how the existence of the Hokage was the most vital for the Village, and Boruto began to retort.
He said something on the lines of 'Grandpa was a Hokage too, wasn't he? But Grandpa left the world before Naruto understood this terrible father and son relationship that awaited him'
Hinata understood his pain, she too felt his suffering, they all did I assume. How could they not when Naruto not only overworked himself to death, but also drained himself from spending time with the people that waited him for at the end of the day? Thankfully, she didn't let his words slide. She told Boruto that he has his father here, right now. Something that Naruto didn't have the luxury of having while growing up.
That's when he had calmed down, or at least enough for him to walk away silently. The last time we see Himawari she is being held by her mother in a really tight hug.

Boruto goes to Naruto's office (at home) and finds his Part 1 jacket that Himawari found in the early parts of the movie while she was helping her mother with folding. He stated that it looked rather stupid and he threw it out of the window. After that Boruto hears the doorbell ring and he thinks that it is Naruto, so he runs hoping to see his father apologize for what he has done ... but at the same time he gets ready to land a hit on him. When he opens the dor it turns out that it was Sasuke Uchiha.
Hinata and Sasuke have their first interaction with each other from what I've seen, and Boruto watches him silently as he figures out that he is Naruto's rival. When he leaves Boruto's eyes shine brightly and he says that Sasuke is "So cool" -- The knowledge is stemming from the fact that Sasuke is his father's best friend and rival, and because of that he must be someone special, or admirable.
While Sasuke was on his way to the Hokage's office he picked up Naruto's jacket which Boruto threw out of the window, and he went on his way.

When Sasuke reached the Hokage's Office, Naruto looked exhausted (after his clone disappeared we saw his reaction with Shikamaru and it was unpleasant). He threw him the scroll that he found hoping that Naruto knew of some way to decode its secrets, and luckily Naruto had a program for such situations. There was Unit in Konohagakure (thanks to Naruto) which could decrypt the scroll over time, and after talking about the scroll and his mission, they began to talk about Boruto.
He tells Naruto that he ran into his son, saying they’re very alike. Naruto denies this, saying if anything Boruto is more like Sasuke. Sasuke looks surprised at this, but then Naruto takes it back. He looks sorrowfully at his beat-up jacket, saying “no, even your clothes were more wrecked than his are.”
…This doesn’t make sense out of the context of the movie. Basically, one of the themes deals with the struggle of what part technology plays in a ninja world, and what part ninjutsu plays in a technologically progressing world. It’s the whole ‘old vs new’ struggle that comes with modernization. For example, kids are playing video games instead of training. This debate is highlighted by the new armgear technology that plays an important part in the movie. Naruto bans the use of this gear in the chunin exams at the beginning of the movie, saying that a true ninja needs to discover what it means to be a shinobi through hard work and sweat, not taking shortcuts using technology. Naruto and Sasuke even cast a ‘bet’ on what ‘being a ninja’ means in the modern times, with Naruto thinking the fundamentals of being a ninja are changing, and Sasuke thinking they’re the same as in their childhood.
Going back to the scene in question where Naruto and Sasuke are talking, Naruto is referring to the fact that Boruto is a genius like Sasuke (and unlike himself). However, the reason he takes it back is because unlike Sasuke, Boruto is lazy and doesn’t try hard or train (Konohamaru and Sarada also say this in other scenes). This is what he means by saying ‘unlike you (Sasuke), his clothes aren’t tattered’. If you reword it, he acknowledges the fact that even though Sasuke is naturally gifted, he always put the effort in to get to where he is today.
It seems from my interpretation that Kishimoto wanted to establish that Boruto is like Naruto, and Sasuke, but he is also himself and unique. You would have Naruto saying "He reminds me of the old you if anything", Sasuke saying "He turned out a lot like you", and then Naruto adjusting his wording by saying "No, even then his clothes aren't as tattered as yours are." Though this is my understanding from watching the Movie.

After Sasuke left the Hokage's Office we see him walking through a dimmed light street, and then Boruto came out of a transformation jutsu and tried to attack Sasuke. Long story short, Sasuke was not capable of being tricked and he stopped Boruto by sliding his leg over his, which made him fall to the ground. Boruto began to stand up while wiping the dirt from his clothes (reference above - Clothes/Clean), and requested that Sasuke was a shinobi that he could teach him, he began to entreat him for an apprenticeship. Saying that he wanted his help to defeat his father, which Sasuke responded with, "If you can make the Rasengan."

After Sasuke said that he may take him on as a student, Boruto rushed to Konohamaru's house so that he can learn the Rasengan. It was probably one of the cutest moments in the film because:
Konohamaru was enthusiastically excited about teaching Boruto, who never wanted to train.
&
He was passing on the legacy of the Fourth Hokage to his Grandson. Just like Naruto did to him.

The Rasengan training was probably one of the most challenging aspects for Boruto to complete in comparison to the Ninjutsu abilities he learns without training. For one, the Rasengan is a multi step process, it isn't something you can learn by just watching (outside of copying abilities from Dojutsu). Which means Boruto had to sit down and learn each step before making the Rasengan itself. I'm cutting down the scene itself because I think moments like these are better to watch yourself.
I will say that Boruto and Konohamaru's interactions are hilarious. He learned the Rasengan in less than a week, a few days actually. In comparison to his father whom mastered it down in a month.

So after Boruto mastered the Rasengan, he goes to show Sasuke his hard work. The first thing that Sasuke notes is that Boruto's clothes have become quite dirty from the last time he saw him, indicating that he had put work in for this. When Boruto had created the Rasengan, Sasuke made a comment that had indirectly hurt Boruto's pride, "It looks far too small."
Boruto starts to doubt himself in that moment and then threw the Rasengan. Afterwards it disappeared and Boruto looked completely defeated. He started to run away from Sasuke all together and Sarada (who had been secretly watching Boruto train for the past few days) started to talk to her father about Boruto. Saying that it was a miracle he kept up for so long because Boruto isn't one to train. While she continued Sasuke heard a noise and saw that the tree behind him was was dented, and Sasuke replied to Sarada while she was still going on about Boruto, "I never said he was no good. I thought I’d take him as a disciple, and yet.." Sarada's faces breaks into a smile and then she goes off to find Boruto to tell him the good news, and then the scene ends with Sasuke looking at the tree once again. I forgot to mention that he said he was impressive.
The scene follows Boruto, and this time he is with Katasuke. Boruto begins to tell Katasuke that he had put days of effort into learning the Rasengan, from his perspective of one who did not train, when he finally put effort in he expected that Sasuke would be extremely impressed with his efforts, or at least a little bit. Katasuke was doing nothing but comforting the boy while showing him around the science lab. The scientist began to explain to Boruto that there was a way for him to bypass hard work easily, and that's when he started to lure the boy into the device.
A day or two later Boruto started to show Sasuke the fruits of his efforts and he created a normal sized Rasengan with the help of the device. I think for a moment Sasuke knew something was up, but he saw Naruto in the boy for a moment and he decided against it. It was at that time the training began.
I'm going to cut out the scenes like Konohamaru's training regime for the soul reason that these are important moments a fan might like to enjoy due to not much spoilers about it. Though I can confirm that Sasuke taught him advanced ways to throw the Shuriken which resembles Itachi's style.
There was actually a great conversation between the two when Boruto was failing to hit the target right, and he complained that 'Sarada the heir to the Uchiha line could do this easily since she is Sasuke's daughter', to which Sasuke replies with his logic saying that since Boruto is Naruto's son, he could make tons of shadow clones, right? Boruto is left a little speechless by that, and Sasuke continues to talk to him.
They really work well together, and that's all I'm spoiling when it comes to their training interactions, sorry.
Movie - Chunin Exams

Like the spoilers above, I'm really not keen on spoiling anything here when it comes to actual fights. Though I'll drop some information for Boruto's character because that's mainly what I'm talking about (and the others):
No one actually defeats their opponents quickly like in the trailers, most of the fights are montages of other fights that are happening at the same time. So you would see a fight start, then see another fight, and then you would come back and a winner would be announced. So the Chunin Exams was relatively quick.
Their first match included a Mist team which setup a Genjutsu trap, and decided to go full on the offensive and attack Boruto's team flag. Mitsuki and Sarada went together to defeat them, but they didn't know that the other team had already left to steal their flags. So Boruto was left with to deal with the entire team by himself.
He had created shadow clones to match them, but they also knew the shadow clone technique. So it ended up being 3/4 vs 9 (three brothers who used the KB to make 9 copies of themselves). The fight wasn't really clear, it ended with the three brothers left standing and the clones on both sides being defeated and with Boruto on the ground. So clearly they overpowered him, but he also took out their numbers otherwise they would still have their army raised.
They started to run to the flag and if they grabbed it, Team Konohamaru would have lost. It was at this moment Boruto's character began to have a certain conflict about the device itself. But he decided against it and defeated the three brothers with a combination technique of Raiton and Suiton.
Mitsuki was coming back to help Boruto as he feared for the worst when he heard him yell, and Sarada reached the enemies flag and disabled the Genjutsu by seeing through it with her Sharingan.

After the match was over, when Boruto returned home he looked at the device. You could tell he was ashamed about this, by using the device, by cheating while his teammates worked hard using their own power. He heard a knock on the door and Naruto rushed in to congratulate him on passing the second part of the Exams. There was actually a long awkward pause before Naruto came to give him a 'fist bump' and Boruto stood there looking at him. It was because if he had returned the fist bump, Naruto would see the device hidden under his sleeve. So he decided not to.
Naruto put the fist to his chest and smiled before walking away, and when he left Boruto started to show his true emotions (he's a big ol' tsundere with his feelings, cold at first and distant until he later opens up. You'll see what I mean). He started to cry and he touched his chest, he was thankful for the first time in a long time Naruto had looked in his direction. It was all because of the device ... and after that moment the struggle between Boruto and the device seemed to have died down.

The remaining fights consisted of everyone winning, bar Chou Chou. Boruto defeated his next opponent by using a cheat shuriken to curve and hit them in the face (despite knowing how to do this already via Sasuke, he picked the easy way out).
We've already seen his fight with Shikidai but I wanted to touch on the scene a little bit.

After Naruto left Boruto's room, he told him not to lose against Shikidai, and at the same time it was one of the few moments were Naruto seemed proud of him (to Boruto), and genuinely looked in his direction. So he was under a large amount of stress for the fight against Shikidai. Since most of us has seen the footage, Shikidai captures him in an expanding shadow technique, and Boruto was immbolized. He then dropped a few scrolls from his hands and shadow clones released.
What I found interesting was that Shikidai's shadow technique didn't really "die", it just seemed that Shikidai figured that he could only hold out for so long. Which questioned how powerful that technique really was, and how anyone can break that bar common sense, I'm mainly thinking about who could break it in their generation and how.
When Shikidai gave up, the crowd roared into chaos and as expected of Naruto's son, the comments about the fight where not that surprising. However, Naruto noticed something odd about the situation and he left his seat a few seconds before and asked his wife to use her Byakugan to check something.
Naruto was seen jumping down from the stands and he approached Boruto. Boruto probably had the biggest smile on his face because he thought his father came down to congratulate him like the day before, and honestly this scene was most heartbreaking in the entire movie. The way the music played, and the timing was just horrible (in a good way). He took out his fist ready to put it against his own father's, and while it looked like Naruto was going to reciprocate it, he then grabbed Boruto's jacket instead.
Boruto immediately started to look away from his eyes, and Naruto began to say that he already told him the gauntlet wasn't approved for the Chunin Exams (yeah Naruto, because children always listen to their parents lmao).
Naruto told Rock Lee (the proctor) to announce that Shikidai was the winner of the match, and that Boruto was disqualified. The whole time Boruto had not looked at his father but kept staring at the ground in shame. He was doing this all for him, from the beginning. He didn't want to join the Chunin Exams, but he did so because he knew his father would watch him. He didn't want to cheat while his team mates proved victory on their own, but with his father watching his eyes the stress had pushed him to the limit.
Everyone from the stands, more importantly people that knew Boruto had a worried look of expression. Namely Sarada who looked in his direction with a face filled with sorrow while she said his name silently. Naruto then proceeded to remove the headband from his head. From the stands Himawari said that she was worried for Boruto, and then we see Hinata hugging her tightly again while she looked down at Naruto and Boruto with the same look Sarada had.
Naruto touched Boruto's shoulder while he still had his head in shame, and he said, “Let’s go…we’re in the middle of the exams now…there’ll be a lecture later!”
This moment was incredibly straining to watch because you could feel the emotions there, the scene was amazing. When Naruto told Boruto that he would lecture him later, he broke.

Boruto then said, “A lecture…later? From you, dad?! Will you really have the time to do that?! If you’d properly lectured me before then…now, things wouldn’t have turned out like this!!”
He knew it wasn't his father's fault for his own wrongdoings, but he couldn't help the anger that he felt towards him, because mainly this whole thing was for him. While this was happening, you could see Katasuke angry at this situation and he began to force his way down. When he reached Naruto and Boruto, both of them looked really angry at him, and he tried to focus the camera his way to promote the device. From the beginning he used Boruto's relationship with his father to trick him into using the machine, and then he tried to market it at the very last second. It directly reminded me of the relationship between Mizuki and Naruto.
A few seconds afterwards Momoshiki and Kinshiki arrived to take down Naruto, Momo had sensed his chakra after defeating Killer Bee (who does survive by the way using the same trick he used to fool Sasuke). Though I'm skipping this scene.
Movie - Change

The transition of the scene is self explanatory through the gif. Naruto tells Sasuke to look after them, Sasuke agrees and then Naruto prepares to stop Momoshiki unleashing his attack on the Stadium.
He turns around for a moment before he smiles at his son, and then he stopped the attack but in the process had lost the Avatar. This would probably be due to how powerful the technique was, when Naruto and Sasuke were protecting Boruto/Sarada (the Kurama head infused with Susano'o) was being teared apart with pure lightning from Momoshiki. So one can only assume how powerful the technique really was if it was capable of destroying the Kyuubi Avatar, or at least in my opinion it did. Though what Naruto did to stop it was: He sent clones outwards and they each pumped out a large tail that formed around his Avatar. So when the Bijuudama reached them, he held it in both hands while he wrapped the tails around the Bijuudama so that it could take in the explosion.
Boruto screams "tou-chan" for the first time, which means father. And then he blacks out immediately.
He wakes up hearing crying sounds from his sister, Himawari. She's by Hinata's bed and Sakura is there healing her. One could assume she's either crying for her mother being unconscious or because Naruto had died (I'm not sure if this news was widespread though). Boruto went to his mother's side and asked if she was okay, and Sakura responded that Hinata went to go save Naruto after he sacrificed himself. So it's not really clear what she did. It implies that she tried to stop Momoshiki and Kinshiki from taking Naruto, though clearly she lost. It's best not to over think this scene. She just tried to save her husband as any rational woman would if she saw that he was going to die, and in the process the opponents were too powerful and they got away, and she got knocked out.
Boruto knew that his father was gone, I forgot how honestly. I think Sarada came to talk to him about how Naruto gave his life for them, and that they couldn't protect him. Either way when he confirmed that Naruto was dead, Boruto just instinctively ran to the one place his father stayed at the most, the Hokage office. I forgot to note that between this scene, Boruto took off the Kote device and threw it on the floor. Sasuke was standing a few feet away and he smiled at Boruto before he continued to run.
When Boruto reached the Hokage Office, he began to reminisce on everything he said before. All the words that reached him, and what he said which were hurtful. You could hear Sasuke, Hinata, and Boruto's voices (Sasuke's speeches about Naruto which I didn't share, Hinata's speech about Naruto which I spoiled above, and the arguments between Boruto/Naruto). Everything that he said about his father, you could tell that he repented it.
He slowly picked up Naruto's jacket and he started to put it on (this scene had a lot of people in tears, mainly the stupid female next to me who has been asking for the backhand). He looked in the mirror and said, "This is a stupid outfit..." and then Sasuke came in right afterwards agreeing.
This scene was really important to me because it showed how great of a Shishou Sasuke was, but also a friend. Remember when I said that the principle of the story is about 'Father and Son', but also the relationship of 'Student and Master' is also at the pinnacle?
Sasuke told Boruto that he earned everyone's dislike in the exam, he was removed of his hitai-ate, he told him that he wasn't even a shinobi. On top of that his little sister was crying, and his mother got hurt, and he lost his father.
If he didn't have his little sister, or his mother right now, he would be the same as Naruto.
Sasuke continued and said, "What will you do now?"
Boruto looked at him and said "How did tou-chan do it? What did he do to crawl from a situation as awful as this?"
Sasuke smiled again, "You don't want to know about his weak points now, huh... then you can hear it from him later. He's still alive, I can sense his chakra."
Boruto then asked why Sasuke even bothered with someone like him all this time.
(What I find really funny is that Naruto usually had a lot of nicknames for people in the series; Pervy Sensei, Granny Tsunade, etc., but with Boruto he usually called people with their appropriate name, unless it was his father who he referred to as 'shitty dad' and Sasuke who he calls his Uncle. What I found out was that Sasuke and Boruto are crafted after Piccolo and Gohan, and Gohan calls Piccolo his Uncle. Nice reference to DBZ Kishimoto.)
Sasuke told Boruto that he is a really strong shinobi, he told him that he will become a man who will surpass him.
Boruto questioned him, "How can you even say something like that?!"
Sasuke replied with “You’re his son, and furthermore by best disciple, aren’t you? And most importantly …”
“You’re even more of an usuratonkachi than Naruto was.”
This moment the whole theater went into a uproar :lol -- Can't lie that I was trying to hold back the feels.
“…by usuratonkachi…you mean…?” Boruto asked.
“Someone who hates to lose," Sasuke said.
It was around this time that the Gokage entered and were ready to follow Sasuke, and Boruto, to save Naruto. I believe it was Gaara who thought that Boruto in Naruto's jacket would also be as powerful, but Sasuke said "As he is, he is not ready yet." Which honestly is true... I mean not even Part 1 Naruto could help out with an Otsutsuki battle like this, but I'm just going to trust Sasuke's words on this.
He handed Boruto his scratched headband, and I think at this moment is where Boruto truly realized what type of man he wanted to be. It was almost as if Sasuke was passing down his will to Boruto, in that essence. I was even reminded of Chapter 699 when Sasuke continued to lecture Boruto.
"Children will makes mistakes." -- "Naruto and I, we made mistakes in the past."
"We were scolded, forgiven, and lead back on the right path The one's who stayed by our side were our friends. There wil never be such a thing as a kid who doesn't make mistakes."
Boruto took his headband and the scene was iconic. People were clapping and yelling at Boruto to put it on.
Hinata came with Sakura a few moments after Sasuke created his S/T portal. She was trying to stop Boruto, because she knew he was going to risk his life. Though before she could get a word out she, and everyone else saw the young Naruto in Boruto when he put on Sasuke's headband. Boruto smiled at her and said that he would rescue Naruto. Sasuke, Sakura, the Gokage's, and Hinata all had a weird smile on before he jumped into the fray due to seeing a man they respected in his child
Ending
A large majority of us have seen the Naruto/Sasuke v. Momoshiki fight already. We already know the details, while I'm on this subject and you have made it this far, if anything you wish to know about this movie that I haven't explained just reply back and I'll message you with the spoilers. I'd rather not spoil anything for the readers of this thread that they didn't want to know yet.
I'm going to cut this in half because the review has slightly drained me.
The Gokage's were dealing with Momoshiki while Sasuke/Boruto saved Naruto, it was stated that he became a shinobi at this moment, and Naruto was truly the proudest father despite being drained of his Bijuu seconds ago. Naruto apologized to Boruto, he said he was sorry for not looking after him in the way a father should, but Boruto shook his head. He told Naruto that it would be fine just like this. He only offered that Naruto tell him more about the past after they get through this.
I thought this was a great scene because for a long time Boruto wanted to chase after his father's shadow, he wanted his father to look at him. Though the experience itself changed him to where he would say, his father didn't need to change the situation at all, it would be fine as it is. He understood that Naruto loved them, something that he couldn't see before when Naruto started to focus on his job.
S/N; I forgot to say that in Naruto's house, there are a lot of pictures in there. Pictures of Boruto/Naruto together (the Last time frame, he's wearing the red and black track suit), a family photo when they are all really young, a picture of Naruto/Hinata back to back, a picture of Himawari and Naruto, Minato, Team 7, Naruto's other friends (like Gaara for example), and many, many, many more. I'm hoping when it releases on DVD that I'll be able to screen them all and make a post about it, some of them are really interesting.

At that moment Momoshiki seemed to have been back at full power, he even resorted to the same technique he used on Naruto in the Chunin Exams.
Sasuke told Boruto that he would have to listen to what he said, that he needed the boy to create the Rasengan. He tried to resist of course because he knew that Momoshiki could absorb his chakra, and that his attack was weak. But Sasuke told him to "Trust in his Shishou."
Boruto created the Rasengan and threw it at Momoshiki, and it disappeared, it later than reappeared and threw him onto the floor. Though it didn't really do physical damage to his body, that's not really surprising given that Naruto/Sasuke were beating the living crap out of him back to back, and their attacks were crushing boulders, and he had no physical damage on his body.
After they brought Momoshiki down for a moment which stopped his technique from charging, they dropped down near Naruto who was surprised that he learned the Rasengan. Sasuke said that Boruto applied an elemental nature to his Rasengan, which is why it has the vanishing properties.
Naruto, Sasuke, and Boruto prepared to finish off Momoshiki with this next combination. They wanted him to create the Rasengan again, but this time Naruto helped make the Rasengan more potent by adding his own chakra. To which Boruto said, "To be able to do this much…just how much did you…” Once again he was amazed at the difference between him and Naruto, it was at this time he shed a single tear from his eyes before him and Sasuke turned into direction of Momoshiki.
(I was pumped for this scene because we finally get to see these two work together).
I'll say this beforehand, there was consensus before this scene. It all happened naturally, just like Naruto and Sasuke beating down Momoshiki.
Sasuke rushed towards Momoshiki while dodging his chakra attacks, he jumped in the air and threw his sword behind him. He then used Amenotjikara to switch places with the sword he just threw, and then he appeared behind Momoshiki ready to strike him. However, Momoshiki had sensed him and threw him towards the side before he could attack. The sword that Sasuke had switched with came falling down, and a clone of Boruto came out of the transformation technique and placed a kunai right into Momoshiki's Rinnegan.
Right afterwards the real Boruto came running and slammed the 'Father and Son' Rasengan directly at his body, and then he was dead.
The scene showed Boruto's back after Momoshiki was defeated, and Naruto/Sasuke were completely drained and stood side by side. Sasuke told him that he won the bet (which was expressed through Boruto), and Naruto agreed while laughing.
They both agreed that the nature of shinobi had not changed.

To keep a long story short, since my review mostly dealt with the relationship between Naruto/Boruto, and Boruto/Sasuke, I'll just reveal the two endings that are already known.
The Uzumaki family are seen together in the end, this time Naruto is spending time with his family, namely his daughter this time. They finally interact and speak words to each other (Thank God), and Boruto is playing that video game from the beginning. Hinata was fixing the clothes that got destroyed when Momoshiki attacked him, but Boruto told her that he liked the scratches.
Both Boruto/Naruto take off at around the same time, and the girls give that Japanese goodbye at the door smiling at them.
Boruto was going towards the right, and Naruto the left. They both said good luck to each other and the fist bump united, closing the scene there.
A lot of people were emotional here, me personally I understood. The movie was draining certain aspects of yourself because of the conflict and struggles, it was just that good. When they finally reconciled, you felt something hit you really hard.

The last ending which I'll cut short as well pretty much deals with the problem that Boruto faced in the early parts of his movie (and his whole life) about the expectations he faced being the Son of the Naruto, and the Grandson of Minato.
When he returned from saving his father, he also become a hero (there's a picture in Naruto's house towards the end that has one of Naruto, Sasuke, Boruto, and the Gokage's). You see Boruto being interviewed, and he remembered what his father had said about the essence of shinobi, so he repeated the same words and the clone disappeared.
You later see Boruto with his teammates, and Mitsuki asked him what will he do now, but the conversation sort of turns into Sarada asking him. He tells her that he doesn't want to walk on the same path as his father, or Grandfather, he'll walk down a different path from them both.
He said that he will support her dream of Hokage, and he'll protect her as well.
He said that he wants to become a shinobi like Sasuke, and then the movie generally ended with Team Konohamaru saving their sensei, and it closed with Boruto making the normal sized Rasengan and shooting it at the screen.
(Ending scene after the credits deals with Orochimaru/Mitsuki.)
You know what's kind of ironic though? In question, Boruto picked a line of work that he won't get recognition for. Despite his surroundings expecting great things for him, I thought that was actually pretty deep in its own way. Especially since he's content with it.

After they brought Momoshiki down for a moment which stopped his technique from charging, they dropped down near Naruto who was surprised that he learned the Rasengan. Sasuke said that Boruto applied an elemental nature to his Rasengan, which is why it has the vanishing properties.
Naruto, Sasuke, and Boruto prepared to finish off Momoshiki with this next combination. They wanted him to create the Rasengan again, but this time Naruto helped make the Rasengan more potent by adding his own chakra. To which Boruto said, "To be able to do this much…just how much did you…” Once again he was amazed at the difference between him and Naruto, it was at this time he shed a single tear from his eyes before him and Sasuke turned into direction of Momoshiki.
(I was pumped for this scene because we finally get to see these two work together).
I'll say this beforehand, there was consensus before this scene. It all happened naturally, just like Naruto and Sasuke beating down Momoshiki.
Sasuke rushed towards Momoshiki while dodging his chakra attacks, he jumped in the air and threw his sword behind him. He then used Amenotjikara to switch places with the sword he just threw, and then he appeared behind Momoshiki ready to strike him. However, Momoshiki had sensed him and threw him towards the side before he could attack. The sword that Sasuke had switched with came falling down, and a clone of Boruto came out of the transformation technique and placed a kunai right into Momoshiki's Rinnegan.
Right afterwards the real Boruto came running and slammed the 'Father and Son' Rasengan directly at his body, and then he was dead.

The scene showed Boruto's back after Momoshiki was defeated, and Naruto/Sasuke were completely drained and stood side by side. Sasuke told him that he won the bet (which was expressed through Boruto), and Naruto agreed while laughing.
They both agreed that the nature of shinobi had not changed.

To keep a long story short, since my review mostly dealt with the relationship between Naruto/Boruto, and Boruto/Sasuke, I'll just reveal the two endings that are already known.
The Uzumaki family are seen together in the end, this time Naruto is spending time with his family, namely his daughter this time. They finally interact and speak words to each other (Thank God), and Boruto is playing that video game from the beginning. Hinata was fixing the clothes that got destroyed when Momoshiki attacked him, but Boruto told her that he liked the scratches.
Both Boruto/Naruto take off at around the same time, and the girls give that Japanese goodbye at the door smiling at them.
Boruto was going towards the right, and Naruto the left. They both said good luck to each other and the fist bump united, closing the scene there.
A lot of people were emotional here, me personally I understood. The movie was draining certain aspects of yourself because of the conflict and struggles, it was just that good. When they finally reconciled, you felt something hit you really hard.

The last ending which I'll cut short as well pretty much deals with the problem that Boruto faced in the early parts of his movie (and his whole life) about the expectations he faced being the Son of the Naruto, and the Grandson of Minato.
When he returned from saving his father, he also become a hero (there's a picture in Naruto's house towards the end that has one of Naruto, Sasuke, Boruto, and the Gokage's). You see Boruto being interviewed, and he remembered what his father had said about the essence of shinobi, so he repeated the same words and the clone disappeared.
You later see Boruto with his teammates, and Mitsuki asked him what will he do now, but the conversation sort of turns into Sarada asking him. He tells her that he doesn't want to walk on the same path as his father, or Grandfather, he'll walk down a different path from them both.
He said that he will support her dream of Hokage, and he'll protect her as well.
He said that he wants to become a shinobi like Sasuke, and then the movie generally ended with Team Konohamaru saving their sensei, and it closed with Boruto making the normal sized Rasengan and shooting it at the screen.
(Ending scene after the credits deals with Orochimaru/Mitsuki.)
You know what's kind of ironic though? In question, Boruto picked a line of work that he won't get recognition for. Despite his surroundings expecting great things for him, I thought that was actually pretty deep in its own way. Especially since he's content with it.
