Boruto have been received alot of attention lately due to the amount of hype given by the movie spoilers which revealed his Prodigy Status however Boruto as it stands right now it has ALOT of UP and DOWN which created ALOT of Controversy within the community.

Let me list all the Pros and Cons to get you more insight with Boruto:

Pros:

- Boruto mastered:

  • Four bodies with kage-bunshin
  • Mini-Rasengan
  • Jyuuken
  • Lightning Rasengan
  • Vanishing/Disappearing-Rasengan
- Boruto perfected a rasengan fairly quick, he also was able to incorporate raiton into it unconsciously on his first try

- Boruto never had the Bracelet BEFORE or AFTER Chuunin Exam

- Boruto saved Sarada with his kage-bunshin during the raid.

- Sasuke was impressed with Boruto vanishing/ visible rasengan when strucked

- Boruto controlled two kage bunshin and hit the panda bear’s vital point during the Chuunin Exam. The Movie Narration Spoilers gives the impression that "it wasn’t the skill of a genin. It was chuunin…no, maybe even jounin class"
( Which means that at-least Boruto actually excels SOMETIME during the exams without relying the device)

Cons:

- Boruto Cheated in the Chuunin exam during the 2nd and Final Preliminary Phase.

- Sasuke didn't teach Bolt the chidori

- Apparently other than perfecting Lightning Rasengan on his own, Boruto can only apply Kaiton to amplify Lightning jutsu thanks to the bracelet

- Needed to get saved by Sarada then Mitsuki by allowing himself to fall down by the trap pit after getting distracted with playing his bracelet. He was unable to protect his flag himself and instead Mitsuki gets the credit.

- Boruto was able to create Giant Rasengan thanks to Naruto supplementary chakra

- Boruto was set to a backburner for almost the entirety battle against Momoshiki. His only roles was to deal with the Final Blow.

Now that I've throw out of the way, this brings to the final point. Does Boruto as a Prodigy lived up the Hype?? Where does this Hype stands right now. We'll find out by determine the Poll Results. Stay Tuned!!!!

I am sure is Kishi decided to continue the series rather then ending it here we would've of seen Boruto grow with these events

have a major character growth seeing as this kid seems to be different then his father and that the lack of having any time to spend with Naruto and the pressure from the village expecting Bolt to do everything got to him

Boruto is still using nothing, but clones and rasengan which was what I dreaded the most. I really didn't want another Naruto rasengan moveset.

Also I though lightning rasengan and vanishing rasengan were the same thing. :|

Nice points...I think Boruto is a really good ninja just not that super prodigy level that was expected. When I think of prodigy I think of Itachi and apparently the reason Boruto was considered a prodigy was for learning Kage Bunshin....so yeah Nay for the prodigy hype. But I will give him the props for being able to do Jyuuken and apply his affinity unconsciously to rasengan. That's pretty impressive. Especially for his age.

But the reason that ability isn't jumping him up to prodigy level for me is because the new generation in general has been doing a lot better than their parents. According to SP they put their parents to shame in the chuunin exams. Shikadai was holding his own against Boruto for example. Sarada also achieved a technique earlier than her parents could and so did Chocho. So yeah he's impressive but not what I consider prodigy level.
